I bought these for my fishing boat. I have a gas motor and trolling motor but you never know if one or both can fail so I carry a set of oars as back up just in case but needed some oar brackets so I ordered these.     • Good Oarlocks for Aluminum Rowboat
Sturdy, well made clamp on oarlocks for my rowboat. Stainless steel means that they’re not going to corrode and not require much maintenance. These will probably last a couple of lifetimes. Unfortunately, they were a bit loose around my oars so I had to make a shim out of some sheet rubber which I had on hand. An old inner tube or floor mat would also do the trick. The shim I made worked like a charm but I did deduct one star for the poor fit and extra work I had to do to get them to fit correctly. To be clear, my oars are standard wooden oars and are well within the size range that this manufacturer claims the oarlocks will fit. So, a little tweaking and fine tuning and all is right with the world. It’s still a very good product that I am quite satisfied with. They are Less expensive than similarly styled ones from other brands. I would definitely buy these again. Cheers! ... show more

The clamping area was designed for a larger set of oars so I had to shim these with rubber gasket material. They work.
