When I bought this for my seven year old for Christmas, I was worried it would be too complicated for him to figure out, but he was able to work every feature without my help, with one exception - adding music. This is more to do with needing a PC (none in this house) than anything, but beyond that, this watch could not be more simple or fun for kids, and it's a great introduction to a smart watch, which I'm sure he'll be begging for in no time. It even has a camera, which he used to take a photo of his grandpa, and which he put as the photo on his watch face. I was surprised he figured that out so quickly, but like I said, this is a really easy watch to use! it also recharges quickly and keeps a charge for a decent amount of time. I mean, it's not a super expensive watch, but for the price I don't think we would have found better. I would definitely recommend this for kids 5 - 9 years old. It's OK for the price. 12 yo wanted a "smart watch" but we didn't want her to have a phone connection. This fills the need. She likes the games, although they are for much younger children. We are all disappointed that the pedometer function does not work. Pedometer/calorie screen always reads zero. Steps shown on the main (click) screen of the watch are cumulative and cannot be reset.
