I purchased this item in September of 2022, it worked wonderfully until I noticed the batteries went bad after about 3 months or so. I thought maybe they were just bad batteries so I bought some more but those only lasted a week. I figured it might have been the brand (they weren’t the cheapest but they were not the best either) so I purchased some name brand batteries and those lasted about 2 weeks. I contacted customer support and Nancy was wonderful! I will not lie I am a millennial and I hate having to call anyone. I would rather do everything through text, email or chat. Nancy contacted me through text and we did some troubleshooting and when she realized I needed a new lock she sent me one and the shipping was super quick! The new lock works wonderful! I love all of the different features. I can set an easy pass code for when my parents visit so it can be one they remember. My fav function is the thumb print!! There have been multiple times I have a handful of bags and all it takes is one second to read my finger print and I am good to go! Nancy also made it a point to reach out and verify the new lock was working properly and that I was completely satisfied!     • Great Customer Service!!!
This is great front door deadbolt! I won't repeat what you can read in the product description, but I did have a problem with the deadbolt which required a replacement. The process was a little clunky. I had to start the request here, in Amazon, then after multiple requests for information via text message and email, the company requested video of performing certain steps so they could diagnose the problem. They did quickly determine that a replacement was necessary and they shipped it out. It didn't take long to show up at my house & I realized that they sent out a newer model, which was only slightly different and had all of the original functionality, so there was no issue there. I got a phone call tonight as a follow up (I think it's been at least a month since I put the new deadbolt on) and they just wanted to know if I was satisfied with the replacement. Really??? What company does that anymore? Anyway, the product is great and so is the customer service. ... show more

The smart lock is good, the app is easy to set up and use. The lock should be installed in dry locations though. I installed mine in a door exposed to rain and after 2 years in the rain the lock went bad. Nancy with customer service was easy to work with and is getting me a replacement quickly, which I will install under a small weather canopy after their recommendation.     • Easy to set up amd easy to use, but lasted 2 years
I love the fingerprint option, however sometimes it's hit or miss whether it recognizes your fingerprint. Ot a nice feature especially if you have close family or friends that can't remember their code. The TTL app didn't always work to notify of when and who unlocks the door. I couldn't fingerprint one of my kiddos, it just wouldn't catch their prints. I had to replace the batteries at least 4 times in the last 2 years since it was installed, but today it just stopped working completely. Definitely buy the asurion warranty, I'm getting a replacement in a few days, thank you Amazon for making this right!!! ... show more

I got my Hornbill deadbolt in 2022 and absolutely loved it! It has so many ways to lock and unlock. Super easy to use! I had an issue and as soon as I contacted the support team they didn’t waste any time working on my issue. Nancy was so awesome to deal with she and the support team have been nothing short of amazing to deal with! Noting is perfect but when I had an issue they helped me. I really appreciate this company and love how they put out true effort for customers! A++++++++ to all of Hornbill employees! Thank you Nancy for everything! At first I gave this product a one star scathing review. Because my original lock had a malfunction and did not work. The reason I’m changing this to five star is the customer service is fantastic with this company. The company contacted me directly after reading my review and replaced my faulty product with a brand new one. The new product works fantastic and I couldn’t say better things about it.     • Does most of what it’s supposed to
The lock works as intended, HOWEVER, there’s multiple features that do not work even with the gateway, and that’s extremely disappointing. I won’t be returning the product because it does what I specifically need it to do, it unlocks without a key, but there’s so many features that I paid for that I wish actually worked. The fingerprint scanner works pretty well, but you have to use the same placement every time or it won’t scan it properly. The auto lock feature is beyond broken so it has to be turned off always or else it locks every ten seconds even without being unlocked first. Another feature that I would like to be able to use is to be able to get the status of the lock when not home, even while home it’ll tell me the lock is locked or unlocked and only be correct about 2% of the time. The only thing I’m really impressed with is that the batteries have held up so far which is only really impressive for the fact that a lot of reviews claimed the lock used all the battery quickly. Overall, the key works well in the lock, the fingerprint scanner is fairly good (just move your finger if it says the fingerprint is wrong), unlocking and locking from your phone and Alexa works very well, the key tags work amazingly, but the codes I wouldn’t recommend using only because the keypad is not fingerprint resistant so it’s very easy to see what numbers have been pressed. ... show more

I love this lock. It can work from my phone and it works great with the key tags I ordered from Amazon. You can use a pass code or a fingerprint which my wife loves to use. All around it is great.
