My partner and I were looking for a new mattress cover, and we decided on this one. It looked so comfy and inviting in the photo. And, it's not bad, it's just not perfect. The mattress cover fits the mattress on our platform bed well, but I do wish it offered more softness, comfort, and relief from pain. My partner and I have both had multiple orthopedic surgeries, and we suffer from chronic pain. This mattress cover helps, but if it were thicker and softer, it would be a lot more comfortable. I am the proverbial "princess and the pea." If there's even a wrinkle in my sleep shirt, I will not be able to sleep until I smooth it out, and I usually wake sore and stiff. My partner is less demanding, and he can sleep in about anything. He also likes a firmer mattress than I do, so for him, this would probably be a five-star topper. The topper does wash well and it keeps our mattress nice and clean and fresh. I guess I will just have to spring for a new mattress so I'm happy, too. ... show more

I bought 3 mattress pads, all of them at the same price. I unboxed all 3 when they arrived because the plan was to pick the best one and return the other 2. This one disappointed me because the material on the underneath side is that cheap paper-like material. I'm sure you've seen it or felt it: it's not soft, it's slightly crinkly in the way that it feels to touch it, and in my experience, this material doesn't last long. This was my deal-breaker. One of the 3 at this price has a MUCH nicer material on the underneath side, so that's the keeper. By the way, I bought both of these SLEEP ZONE mattress pads. The other one is the one that sounds like it would be thinner. To me, they're about the same thickness as each other! I wouldn't say it has a thickness either, but there isn't a better word to use so there it is. Speaking of which, don't expect this to be plush. It's NOT. It's just a cheap fluffy-LOOKING mattress pad. In reality, it's just... meh. I wouldn't expect it to feel all that different compared to not having any sort of a mattress pad. In fact, that's what the one I'm keeping is like too. So with this aspect, it seems you DO get what you pay for. So now I think if you want something you'll feel when you're sleeping on it (something thick), then you'll need to look at something that's at a higher price and you should include pillow tops in your search. The way this thing is advertised made me think it'll be way too big for my washer and dryer, but lol no it would fit just fine if I were to keep it. You should see the tiny box it comes in. No, it doesn't inflate as soon as you cut the bag open. Some of the better ones probably would, but not this one. It's laughably thin when you think about the way it's advertised. They make it look so plush and luxuriously cushy. The other 2 came in tiny boxes as well, but that was also the goal: to find something decent that will fit EASILY in my washer and dryer. My previous one was massive, almost like a pillow top. Washing it was a pain in the butt, and it was HEAVY. The one I'm keeping is wonderfully the opposite of that without sacrificing any apparent quality, unlike this SLEEP ZONE mattress pad (and the other SLEEP ZONE pad too).
