  • good to go for another 5 years
I wanted better performance at higher resolutions, and the old rig wasn't cutting it. I know the current scene with MSRP being pretty much a myth will probably be the norm for another year or more, so I bought this gaming PC with no reviews at all. It arrived fast (I live in Central Coast California, the PC shipped from SoCal) but I had to let it sit for a week until I got some free time. First impression was, HEY, it has a reference RX 6900 XT in it! (Future water loop.) The CoolerMaster Master Liquid 360 Mirror AIO cooler had the plain fans substituted for the Gamdias Aeolis M2 120 fans, which are also the other fans in the case. The fans are configured with radiator blowing out, front fans blowing in, back fan blowing out so good there. The fans as wired in my build are speed controlled with the Gamdias controller and hub, as is the fan RGB. Gamdias fans have an eight pin connector that provide the fan and rgb control via the remote. The CoolerMaster CPU cooler argb is wired to the mobo argb header, and is controlled with the Asrock software. I'll see how I like this arrangement for fan control. The motherboard is perfectly adequate unless you plan on over clocking, and the ram, while good quality, is nothing special. The M.2 Seagate Firecuda 520 is a good surprise though. This is a well reviewed SSD. The power supply in mine is the EVGA G3 750 watt, which is fairly well reviewed online. I plan on putting my Corsair 1000 watt in later. The vertical GPU mount was installed my case, but I believe it is missing one of the two pcie brackets I see in Thermaltake's pictures of the case. That said, I found some of the wiring routing not to my liking (personal opinion/preference) so I plan on changing some of it. I fired it up, set up Windows, and began updating the drivers and bios. Since this PC was built in April 2021, it was only one revision back. I ran some game benches, no problems at all with my spare 1440 monitor. The performance is truly impressive. Bottom line: Good parts, assembled pretty well, performs great, and will probably last you more than 5 years. I went on PC Part Picker and priced this build as close as I could. They had no reference 6900 XT prices, so I picked the cheapest 6900 XT they had listed; a $2200 Asrock AIB. That build was $3500. ... show more

  • Broken out the box. Poor Construction and attention to detail. Slow and ineffective tech support.
I don't normally write product reviews. But my experience with this product and skytech has been so completely terrible I have to warn againts buying this computer or any from skytech. Computer came broken out the box, and missing a wall cable for the power supply. The computer could power on, but there was no display to monitor black screen. After talking back and forth with skytech tech support, we diagnosed the issue as a faulty GPU. After waiting about 3-4 months to recieve my replacement GPU after sending the faulty one, I installed the new AMD 6900xt. With the new GPU the computer was able to display to monitor. However my luck ran out when I attempted to play video game that required high performance, I frequently experienced black screen crashes, about every 10-40 min, the computer screen would go black, while the computer remained on with fans running and everything, only by power cycling with the power button to restart the computer would return signal to the monitor. I spent another 3-4 months attempting to trouble shoot the problem with assistance from skytech tech support. During which I relied heavily on the computer for productivity purposes (I was pursuing an engineering degree), the computer did not crash at all while not gaming, I did use the computer to code, surf the web, and using office apps no problem. But when it came to gaming, any modern AAA games were off the table, religated to golf with friends and rocket league. Considering I purchased the computer with the amd 6900xt, I intended to play some games requiring high performance, but getting random crashes every 10-40 minutes is just was enough to keep me from playing them, on a $3000 computer that I saved for good while for. Skytech tech support eventually determined that the GPU was problably another faulty one, but by this time my 1 year warrenty had run out, and skytech tech suport was no longer able to help me. At this point I began sinking my persnal time into attempting to fix the computer, I basically tried everything, short of swapping every individual part in computer. Updating GPU and Chipset Drivers, Reinstalling windows, Reseating GPU and Ram Sticks. As a last resort I looked at every online forum, carefully tweaked all sorts of combinations of cpu, gpu and ram clock timings and voltage settings to no avail. According to online tech forums, the error that shows up in windows event viewer after I experience a black screen crash (it's called a "WHEA-Logger Event ID 18 Cache Hierarchy Error"), can be indicative of a hardware error pretty much anywhere in the computer... So can only conclude the there is still a problem with the original construction of the computer. DON'T BUY ... show more

  • Skytech did it the right way with this system. Bought during Video Card price gouging of 2021.
I have always built my own PC's, but when I purchased this system video cards where $$$$$$ to say the least. Based on the amazon website description and having a little faith that it would come with quality components I bought this prebuilt for $2500.00. I am very happy with the computer and its hardware. Case = Thermaltake S300 TG Motherboard = ASRock X570M Pro4 CPU = AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3.8GHz Memory = Micron16GB DDR4 3200 - average memory Video Card = XFX AMD 6900 XT 16G GDDR6 SSD = Seagate Firecuda 520 1TB Gen4 SSD PSU = 750W Gold PSU Gamdias Kratos P1A-750G 360mm AIO = Coolmaster 360m with remote control Skytech RGB Keyboard and Mouse = Good Quality K and M Windows 10 64bit Home For what I paid at the time for all this hardware in a system I saved quite a bit if I would have bought it separately. The system plays MSFS 2020 in 2k resolution like a champ, I get a solid 45 to 50 fps with every setting maxed out Plays ACC at 150% scaling every setting maxed out. 2k resolution 70 fps. I have not had to use Skytech Tech Support so I can't speak on if its good or bad. PC was packaged great. The main box had the PC contained in Foam casing. Then the main box was encased in foam in another box. I received it with out any damage at all. I dual boot windows 10 and windows 11 on this system and I have NEVER had any blue screens of death or system randomly crashing. System runs great and I love the remote for the AIO if it needs some more fan speed I can change it with the remote. The remote also changes all the RGB lighting. Very Happy with the Skytech 3.0 Prebuilt ... show more
