I always get my 14 and 10 year old daughters a shared gift for Christmas. This year I got them this. I knew they would like it but their delight exceeded my expectations. Opened it Christmas Eve around 7pm and had to make them put it up around 12:30am. I had also purchased more dies, embossing folders, and paper. It's such a neat creative tool that can keep anyone busy and happy. The instructions aren't very clear and it's awkward to roll the pad through with the pages opened for the embossing folders. Once you get past these minor hurdles the results are excellent. The embossing folders are almost magical when you see the results. The rubber plug that covers the handle screw was too small and doesn't stay in place. No big deal at all. ... show more

been eyeing this machine for a bit.. i have a circut but each have functions the other doesnt have. .. i am very impressed with the out of the box use and amazing cuts this sizzix makes... gamechanger for my small business

    • Low tech but a wonderful tool for card making
My friend gave me her old style Cricut machine when I mentioned I was interested in trying card making. It didn't take me long to decide that machine was way complicated for me and didn't seem like it would do what I was trying to do anyway. I did some research on YouTube and got a better idea of what was available. The Big Shot ticked off all my boxes in terms of capabilities and it was also simple to use, not to mention no battery or electricity required! I purchased the starter kit and was able to start making cards immediately. i bought this machine because i had one before and unfortunately it's broken, the metal frame from inside cracked i don't know how i discovered it when i use my dies cut it's only cut one side, i search on you tube how to fix it and after i open it i shocked that the metal it self broke!!!!! so i ordered a new one and i can't find the same color of the previous one , in general the machine is very excellent and useful it came with the beginner kit and it's work i hope it doesn't break like the old one ... show more

I have been looking for this machine for awhile and finally purchased it during the prime days... It is everything I wanted and needed and I'm extremely pleased. Now the cutting boards to make the sandwiches are disappointing as they scarred from the cutting dies and leave the imprints in the plastic, but are still usable. Directions right on the machine make it very easy to use. I love the thin lit dies that came with it. I made about 25 Christmas cards and it worked great. Working on birthday cards now.
