Description

Big Shot Plus Starter Kit with Craft Asylum, 660341 Looking for the perfect die cutting machine for card making? Why not try our extremely popular manual machine! It’s everything you love about the original Big Shot, but on a larger scale. The Sizzix Big Shot Plus machine is the perfect tool for a wide range of creative pursuits and caters for everyone from the beginner to the expert! With the additional extras included in the starter kit, anyone can start creating straight out of the box. The A4 sized platform allows you to cut a variety of materials up to 9 inches wide and with just one roll through the Big Shot Plus machine, you can create a detailed and precise design to suit your creative needs. Designed with the potential to cut materials ranging from tissue to cork, as well as fabric and wood, the project possibilities are endless! Compatible with the full Sizzix library including Sizzix Bigz, Thinlits, Framelits (including Plus dies) as well as Embossing Folders, you can create a never-ending collection of high-end die cutting products. What's included? 1 Big Shot Plus Machine, 1 Big Shot Plus Platform System, 2 Cutting Pads, 1 Thinlits Plus Die Set, 1 Bigz L Die, 1 Textured Impressions Plus Embossing Folder, 4 Double-Sided A4 Cardstock Sheets, 10 Double-Sided 5 1/2"" x 6"" Cardstock Sheets. What is die cutting? Die cutting is a quick and easy way of producing individual, or mass shapes from paper, foil, cardstock or even chipboard using a machine and die, instead of cutting by hand. What cuts my material? A die cutting machine will always be necessary in order to die cut, though it's not the machine itself that physically cuts your material. The die cutter you use (for example a Sizzix Bigz, Thinlits or Framelits die), is responsible for revealing your design. . . the machine just applies the pressure. So if you're ever unsure whether you can die cut a certain material, check the compatibility of your die rather than your machine!

  • Sizzix Big Shot Plus Starter Kit
Easy to use. A little bulky in size when my arthritis is acting up.

  • Good machine, good price, fun product
I recently purchased this starter kit and it's fantastic. If you already have blank cards, you can use the dies included to embellish your cards, otherwise you'd need to buy one of the card making dies. The included box die makes an adorable, albeit small, gift box that also can be left as is or embellished with what is included. If you are a crafter, you know how slippery the slope can be for a new crafting adventure, but I can say that after scouring the options available, this is a great starter kit for a reasonable price. Indeed you do need to purchase other dies and paper to really bring out the machine's potential but it has been worth the adventure so far to me. Note that the acrylic platforms will get very, very messed up in use and will sound like they're going to crack in half or the handle will be hard enough to turn you will think you're about to break something. They will not crack and so far nothing has broken even when the handle has been difficult to turn. The manufacturer says to rotate the platforms for even wear, but I've opted to use only one plate as the base and let the other take the brunt of the cutting and will replace them one at a time as needed. Also, I will try putting the die, paper, and then another sheet of perhaps tissue paper in the "sandwich" so that the plate will receive at least a bit less wear while still letting the machine cut through my paper. Photos one and two show what was made with separately purchased card dies. Photo two shows the gift box included in the set (I used the flowers dies from another set). ... show more

  • GREAT BUY
I love everything about this machine. I use bigger dies with it and all of my small dies work too.

  • Love this machine!
Great quality, sturdy and easy to use! I love that there’s no guess work, follow the directions and you get the best results. I bought a competitor’s die cut machine and even after years of using it I only got mixed results. So I highly recommend the Big Shot for its consistency and the end results look great! ... show more

  • Needs more bang for the buck
First impression I think they could include more for the price. I chose this set mainly for the machine, box die, and the butterfly dies. The box die is too long for standard cardstock you need 12 inch paper. When I used scrapbook paper from a pad the sides cut right through instead of scoring. The Bigz die works just not something I will use often. The stem is kinda meh okay. The papers included aren't colors or patterns I'd ever pick. They only give you 4 sheets of the long ones to get started with. Again for the price they could include a little more especially since you will have to cut 4 inches off 12x12 paper if using the box die. I don't much care for the leaf shape dies, or the little round ones. And they don't give you anything to store the extra dies. The dies were a bit of trick of get off the backing almost bent the box die. Instructions aren't crystal clear not knowing which type of dies are in the kit it's hard to know which shim your supposed to use. I don't like having 2 clear plates. It's hard to see the bottom plate on the machine. It also would be nice if the base was magnetic instead of having to spend more money for one. I ordered the extra pads at the same time they came before the machine. I really feel they should include them in the starter kit they're silicone and hard plastic not expensive to produce. Lastly you can't set the plates on the deck make your layers then crank through easily because the deck is half the size of plates on each side. Your layers slide off, dies slide out unless you tape everything. Save your money buy the machine and dies separately. ... show more

  • Love it, but the clear plastic damages quickly.
Unless Im doing something wrong... the clear panels absorb the die patterns... everytime. Making these clear sheets warp. I had to heat mine in the oven to reflatten them after just 1 day of use. They were curved instead of flat by the end of the day. I went to a local plastic shop... they measured them and made me a new set. These new ones dont warp. The material must be slightly different... ... show more

  • Great!
I love my Big Shot Plus! I purchased two Big Shots to give as a gift. The Big Shot is cute, but I think the Big Shot Plus is better for those who need to use bigger dies. I recommend putting a self-healing cutting mat, then the die, and then the cutting pad. I don't recommend using the two cutting pads. It's easier and avoids warping the cutting pad. ... show more

  • Nice
What's not to like. It's big and will be able to do my 12x12 papers. It's the best price anywhere. The dies that come with it are really nice. Great buy, so happy.
