The product is nicely designed and the manufacturing is well done. HOWEVER, the screws they provide are very poor quality metal and will sheer off if you use a screw gun. Given the weight of what this rack is designed to hold it would be very dangerous to use the pot metal screws they provide.     • You get what you pay for
Is this the most study rack you've ever seen? Absolutely not. This is thin gauge tube steel. With good mounting hardware (see below) it'll work fine. Did I get my money's worth? Yeah, probably. I could have fabricated it, but it would have taken longer than it took me to click order and probably cost me every bit as much in time + materials. Would I trust their mounting hardware? Absolutely not. Go get yourself some 1/4" lag screws or at a minimum, some nice big beefy #12s. You can't be too paranoid when something is over your head. Is it hard to assemble? It is not if you are even slightly "handy inclined". One screw per level, six total, plus the three to go into the wall (that you went out and bought separately, right?). Pretty self-explanatory. Would I put the supposed 600lbs rated capacity on it? Probably not. I have probably 350lbs on it and it seems fine (with my upgraded hardware). ... show more

I just put this up on the side of my house. I wanted to install away from the home siding. And a shed is going in next to it. I needed something to get wood that I repurpose off the ground. Have a small hobby wood working shop. I bought a 2nd one that will be inside so that I can make sure they are dry for my hobby projects. So far it seems to do what I need. I will not be putting real heavy boards there so the 600 LB Max should not be an issue. My only complaint is the screws they included with hardware are cheap and two of them sheered off while leveling the rack. There was no weight yet on these bars. So I used my own screws as I did not have confidence in what they supplied. I will update if there is any change in what I expect. ... show more

I read all the other reviews and when they showed up I threw away the hardware and got my own. The hardware is a joke. Using my own hardware, I feel confidant they will not fall off the wall. If nothing or something light is own the shelves they slip down. If they are holding weight they do not move. So, they do the job. I did buy another set for another location in my shop ... show more

    • The mounting hardware could have been a little sturdier
Unlike other racks that have purchased the mounting hardware on this was a simple 3-in wood screw it also came with anchors to mount in the drywall or paneling which I would not advise. Personally I would upgrade the anchors to lag bolts other than that they seem to be quite well made although the storage arms are not as long as the other set I bought so it kind of limits your storage by a few inches ... show more

I was surprised that only these tiny screws that you screw into the vertical metal piece are supposed to hold up the horizontal pieces plus the weight of the wood but they seem to be doing fine so far. The biggest problem was the mounting screws. They’re super cheap! I drilled pilot holes and they still twisted and broke which had to be tediously removed from the hole so I could use different screws. I gave up after the first 2 broke and used my own screws. So if you’re reading this don’t bother with the ones they send you. Other than that seems to be working fine 👍 ... show more

    • DO NOT USE INCLUDED FASTENERS-BEWARE OF SCAMS
The actual rack is fairly sturdy but the fasteners for attaching to the wall are horrible. The first one broke as we were mounting it, so we quickly regrouped and bought more sturdy screws from the hardware store. Update: Our original 3 racks are still going strong and loaded to capacity with lumber. We tried to order again last spring from a vendor that shipped (or didn't, rather!) from China. The vendor based in China was a total scam!!! But we love the racks so much that we took a chance and ordered again from 7Blacksmiths, the original supplier. The racks came in 5 days!!! We haven't installed them but they look the same as originally. Moral of the story: If you're going to order, make sure the vendor is credible. I would have no problem recommending these racks again as long as you order thru 7Blacksmiths. ... show more
