FEATURES OF SISTEMA KLIP-IT CONTAINERS >> Absolute seal--achieved by "O-rings" >> Easy to open/close. You do not have to press the containers closed nor pry them open. Just place lid on top and "latch" closed, or unlatch and lift the lid off. >> The sides of most are nearly vertical, not inclined. So, you can't stack the bottoms inside one another. But that also means that there is no wasted space. >> For all practical purposes, you must store them with the lids on. But that also means you don't have to hunt for the lids. Containers of the same size stack well on top of one-another, and those with the same size top stack well. >> The top adds another 3/8" or so of usable space, so you can fill the containers "to the brim". CAUTION >> While the Sistema containers are nominally "dishwasher safe", any plastic can be damaged by the heating coils in your dishwasher. I learned this because my current Bosch dishwasher doesn't have a "drying" cycle, the metal pots and ceramics dishes dry from the heat they absorb from the washwater. The plastic doesn't dry at all---but it also remains undamaged, compared to my Frigidaire dishwasher which regularly damaged my plastic storage containers. Several other reviewers report that dishwashing the Sistema lids causes them to distort, and for the blue lock clips to become brittle and break. So, if you want your Sistema containers to last, either hand-wash them, or turn off the "dry" cycle of your dishwasher (or choose a cycle which "air dries"). You'll also save a lot of electricity ($$$). >> While the Sistema containers are nominally "microwave safe", any plastic can be damaged by overheating---especially the tops which can warp. While you can CAREFULLY warm up cold food in a Sistema container in a microwave: ALWAYS take the top off first. DO NOT attempt to cook anything in a Sistema container. >> While the Sistema containers are nominally "freezer safe", they are very brittle when "freezer cold". Do not drop them, and allow them to warm up a little before you try to open them. This is the perfect container for storing loaves of gluten free bread machine bread. Pop the cooled loaf in the container and keep it on the counter. Stays fresh for days, slice as needed. Came back to buy another, as I will be baking bread ahead and storing in freezer (slice and separate with parchment paper) for reliable access to yummy bread for sandwiches during these online school days. Also buying a smaller size for storing homemade croutons... I hand wash and air dry. No problems with misshapen seals. I don’t use for wet items, so no issues with leaking. I don’t think these are marketed as either air tight or leak proof. ... show more

I bought these because my kids like to eat muffins in the morning. I usually make 2 dozen muffins on Sunday night for the week and like to keep them out on the counter so they can grab them for breakfast. The boxes seal nicely and are great for this purpose. The only thing I don’t like is that they are just a bit too small for 1 dozen muffins (made in a normal cupcake Pan). I purchased this to replace one I have been using for five years. They are sturdy, great size for when I cook a week's worth of food and the locking clips have always been easy to open and close. Are you stuck buying fancy, fresh frozen food for your large dog? Do you hate the mess of keeping it in ziplock bags that get gross within a day? THIS IS THE ANSWER. We get these large dog food packages (72oz) from Just Food For Dogs that last our German Shepherd about two days. The packages are not resealable, so we’ve been keeping them in gallon size ziplock bags, but maneuvering the food pack inside the ziplock bag gets annoying and messy pretty quickly. I spent hours searching for the perfect size Tupperware/storage container to use instead. This is it. Look how well it fits! Easy access scooping and no mess! I bought this container to store the pesto ice cubes I was making with the OXO Good Grips Silicone Stackable Ice Cube Tray. With each ice cube being around 2x2", I can fit 24 ice cubes into this container perfectly. I like the opening mechanism on this container, that the hinges are on the container itself rather than the lid. It holds up really well in the freezer and does not freeze shut (so it's easy to open and close). Plus, it doesn't take up too much space despite its size. Liked everything about this. Locks hold very well, leak proof, perfect size. The only slightly thing I have a bit of trouble with is my hands have arthritis & at times I have trouble opening the container but that is no fault of yours. I am just getting older!
