I love the completely retro knobs and chrome accents. I installed it into my Bayliner 40th Anniversary edition boat. The FM tuner works great. I might use an mp3 player hookup occasionally. The unit has many options I did not need for use on a fish and ski combo boat. But, heck at the price it was an excellent find. Installed in about 30 minutes from unboxing. Very easy to understand instructions. Wiring Diagrams for power and speakers were a great help also. It isn't a high-end component but that ain't what I wanted or paid for. If you want a decent unit easy to install and priced like a bargain basement find. I highly recommend this unit. ... show more

    • Screen illumination is very weak !
Fist device I received was unreadable at all, just black screen. Next one, I got on exchange, could been read in very very shade place only, better under a blanket! Third one I didn't try, just return it ! It's not big money, but the seller's attitude simply reimburses! Don't recommend.

    • Good car stereo for the money, but...
This device is easy to install and easy to use. I put it in my pickup truck for listening to basically talk radio and some rock music primarily from the thumb drive/USB input. It needs to run at about half volume to get any kind of level to overcome the wind and road noise. It is easy to use and recognizes folders in the USB drive for mp3 audio playback (but does not indicate the name of the folder). The mp3 files scroll across the screen as abbreviated titles. The FM radio receiver is not very sensitive so if listening to the radio is your primary use, you should go with a higher quality unit. I'm just using it for mp3 playback so it's fine for me. The biggest problem is the heat sink in back gets extremely hot in a short amount of time at half volume levels; so hot you cannot touch it. So, when installing, leave yourself plenty of air space behind the unit if you can (This radio is only about 2-1/2 inches deep). My stock radio was twice as tall as this radio, so I have a 2" air space on top of this radio in my dash that I'm going to leave open. I'm also considering installing a small computer type fan to help cool it. It gets that hot. I've had a similar low budget radio, like this one but a different brand name, in the past that also got extremely hot so it's probably a trait that is inherent in the lower budget radios. ... show more
