I chose this mat because of the size and had the raised edge. All the extra accessories are helpful and thoughtful. The size is perfect and I like that all of the accessories have suction cups so you can place them wherever you want them. The mat is a good thickness. It comes folded up, but lays flat pretty quickly. The box everything came in will be good for storage and I’ll probably roll up the mat to store. Great value! ... show more

It works, washes up easily... only note I've got on this is plan to wash it before it needs to be used... and soak it in soap. The one I received smelled like... I guess just silicone but strong... wasn't terrible but it was noticeable. The kids had no notes on it in a couple of uses. It exists, it works, it saves some cleanup time. ... show more

I mainly got this set because I needed a new silicone mat to protect my desk while doing different kinds of small projects, ranging from painting to electronics to light woodworking. I knew this one would be larger than my others, but I was surprised by how large it actually is. My other mats were about 1/4 the area (1/2 the width, 1/2 the length) and they gave me enough room to do one thing, but that was it. At 24" x 16", this mat is big enough to keep multiple parts, tools, and other things all together on the mat, with less worry about messing up my desk. The mat is very floppy which means its easy to lay it smooth, and easy to fold it up and stash it when done. It's not super thick, so it's perfect for painting and lightweight protection, but maybe not the best to protect from heavy impact or sharp points. The painting techniques I use are very simple, so I wasn't sure how much the extra silicone accessories will benefit me, but I definitely think they will be helpful in some painting/dying projects I have. I do some things with alcohol inks, which can involve some water, some alcohol, some mixing in small containers, a place to keep the bottles so they don't stain anything, etc...Since I'm not an expert I don't want to pretend I know the best use for all the art accessories, but there is a nice caddy to hold a few colors, and rinse brushes. There is a little paintbrush stand so you can lay brushes down without the end touching the mat. And there is a collection of little bowls with suction cups on the bottom that can be placed where needed. I will say that the suction cups don't stick well to the mat itself (it's hard to get suction between 2 really soft objects). They stick to hard surfaces very well. As for the non-silicone accessories, it is nice they are included but they are less useful for my needs. There's a variety of brushes included, and they seem ok. There's also a plastic rectangle, which I guess is usable as a color palette for thicker paints. I think I would have been satisfied with the mat alone. The extra silicone pieces are a total bonus that I can think of uses for. The other stuff doesn't help me much, but it may be just what someone else needs. I think if you like working with resin or painting things in watercolor or acrylics, this would be a fantastic set to get. ... show more

I wanted a silicone painting mat so that my two year old son could do crafts without me worrying about things getting on the table. I also like to give him paint in moderation so I love that the little paint tray allows me to do that! The mat itself is very large which i appreciate! It covers more than enough space. I also love that all of the accessories suction on and I don't need to worry about them tipping over. The brushes are pretty cheap looking and feeling and I'm not really sure they're necessary to make this a good product. But they're a nice touch for people that would need them. Over all i'm really happy with this and look forward to many days of crafting! ... show more
