Features

  • To bolster its multi-tasking factor even further, the UD90 takes advantage of increased bandwidth when used in conjunction with motherboards equipped with PCIe 4.0 slots. In fact, it has nearly double the bandwidth of PCIe 3.0 for shorter download times and the ability to download more files within the same amount of time.
  • An SSD's speed is meaningless without the ability to handle that speed reliably. The UD90 achieves improved sequential read/write and random read/write performance with support for SLC Caching. At the same time, it supports low density parity check (LDPC) coding to ensure accuracy of data transmission and reliability of data access.
  • The UD90 supports RAID to protect data in the case of a drive failure. It's also equipped with built-in E2E data protection for enhanced data transfer integrity. Unexpected things can happen at any moment, but the UD90 is prepared for them with your data at its utmost priority.
  • 5-year limited warranty

Description

Don't lose your train of thought with slow load times! Designed with content creators in mind, the UD90 is built to handle the demanding levels of multi- tasking that's required of creative production, effortlessly. With support for NVMe 1.4 and Host Memory Buffer (HMB) technology, the UD90 offers uninterrupted productivity via higher performance and lower latency for seamless execution across applications.

  • Great value - does get toasty
Capacity: 4TB
This drive is a great value when it goes on sale. It just works, fast speeds, but does get hot. The temps are well within the limits of it's data sheet. I've been running this for months without issue.

  • my laptop's another 3 years
Capacity: 4TB
My 512GB ssd is full, I dissemble the ultra-thin laptop and I'm glad to find that the SSD is replaceable. At last I choose this one, the benchmark is not quite good but it's very cost-effective. And the 4TB space is crucial. I don't need to remove the less frequently used apps anymore.

  • Great performance for the money. Love the 4TB capacity.
Capacity: 4TB
Had it plugged in and running in about 2 min. 7GB read and about 4.5GB write. Fast enough for me! Tried some really long writes and it dipped to 500MB/sec once in a while but not less than that. That tells me that it's probably TLC nand and not QLC (I was a little worried about that cause I couldn't confirm). I know the 2TB and smaller are all TLC so logically the 4TB should be also but wasn't 100% sure. Hit a max. of 60 degrees C (140 F) so that's not too bad. It sure feels nice to have a 4TB drive that is FAST!......and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It's great to see SSD prices coming way down in the last several months. SP is not a top brand but I've never had a problem with any of the dozen or so components I've purchased over the last 5 or 6 years so I've gotten to trust them. They tend to offer comparable performance at significantly lower cost. So far I'm really happy with this SSD and highly recommend it. ***Update*** It's now a few months later and I thought I would add a little more information. I bought a Beelink SER6 miniPC recently. It came with a bottom-of-the-barrel 512GB QLC SSD (slow and hot). I wanted to upgrade it right away as I had a few other (much better) SSD's kicking around. I tried 2 of them but they would NOT fit - too thick. The 4TB UD90 was PERFECT. It is single sided and very thin. The fact that there is very limited room in this PC so that you cannot even install a decent heat sink, makes it imperative that the SSD runs fairly cool. The UD90 does that along with great speed so it was the perfect upgrade for my new mini computer. So glad I hadn't already set it up for another purpose. So, if you need a great priced, fast SSD to install in tight spaces this is the perfect choice. ... show more

  • Great ssd
Capacity: 4TB
Put two 4TB in a NAS. They work great as both a storage pool or a cache. 8tb of cache is probably a bit much.... but it works!

  • Buyer be aware! Bait n Switch. QLC Nand + only 10~60GB SLC Cache, 150~ 250MB sustained write / read
Capacity: 4TB
Extremely disappointed!!!!!!! I bought about 10 silicon power drives in the past and all had good experience, except this time, I thought I found a good deal and value drive from silicon power as SSD prices are falling. I read multiple review sites and amazon reviews and determined the model UD90 uses Phison E21T controller and TLC NAND Flash, with advertised speed of 5000 read and 4500 write in SLC mode. Looking at their warranty and 3000TBW rating, and online review and amazon review, I was confident the drive uses TLC. Unfortunately upon receiving the drive, I took the spec for granted and trusted it until I cloned 1000GB of data to my drive, and noticed unacceptable level of slow down during the copy, averaging around 150MB~250MB write(sequential large files). Later test confirms the SLC cache is only about 15GB~65GB, and the flushing / recovering of the SLC cache is very very slow; SLC cache speed is around 2000MB seq read and 3500 seq write; but outside of SLC cache(controller flushing and busy seq read is only around 250MB, and seq write is about 150~250MB). Confirmed with crystaldiskmark / windows explorer copying / and As Benchmark with comparison of MP34 and SK Hynix P41(Note screenshot SHPP41 is SK Hynix P41, not SPP silicon power). The native speed suggest my variant is QLC NAND flash instead of TLC which was also confirmed with screenshot above, the current price model and market for the existence of QLC is a sin and a no brainer(not until QLC is half of the price or lower than TLC) - not only QLC significantly reduce write endurance and life span of the drive, but also significantly throttle and slowdown once the SLC cache is depleted, not only it affects sustained write, but also throttles read speed, and you are only saving $10~$20 for all that drawbacks, which is completely not worth it. The temperature with motherboard heat sink is alright, only around 49 C max; If it weren't because of the QLC flash and laughably low amount of SLC cache(only 15~60GB SLC Cache on a 4TB model?), this would be an awesome value drive. I also sent tech support email to silicon power asking to confirm the Nand flash and controller and bad performance, so far no reply in 3 days so I decided to check the fid myself and ultimately decided to stay away from this drive, I opted out for a slightly slower but much better TLC + Dram TeamGroup Mp34 for $20 extra instead. much saddage and day is ruined. ... show more

  • Seems to make a good Game drive
Capacity: 4TB
4TB, MVMe 1.4 (PCIe 4). fast reads.... Great for a game drive. Writes are a bit slow when files/data are big or in large numbers. Not sure of longevity.... Doesn't tell you if it's QLC or TLC technology, but everything I hear points to QLC on the larger SSDs in this lineup of SSD models.

  • Quality but small
Capacity: 500GB
Good quality for the price, but I wish I had gotten the 1TB initially as 500gb is quickly becoming not enough storage.

  • Works great
Capacity: 4TB
Originally bought a 4tb crucial but this was half the price and works perfect . Sent back the crucial and kept this . If it works for you save yourself the money . Again only had it a week but no issues , I cloned hard drive to this , and it’s being used as the c drive, only had one m.2 slot so toon advantage of it with this , being used as boot drive and storage for all computer games , my son is a gamer , everything loads quick and perfectly . Will see how it lasts . It does have its own program that you can download that tells you the temps of the sad, the storage , the health , estimated life expectancy how accurate that is I don’t know but there is a lot of information that it does tell you pertaining to the drive, which I believe most of these m.2 ssds have some program that is used. But so far it’s working perfectly , and cloning went perfect , if any issues arise I will update this . ... show more
