Used this to upgrade my HP touchscreen laptop from a 512g 2.5" hard drive to a 1tb SSD. I removed the old drive and just left the bracket in place in case I ever want to upgrade to more space. Also, removing the old metal hard drive reduced weight and power drain by leaving a spinning hard drive in place. So far the device is working perfectly. I upgraded to the Chrome FLEX OS and the machine is very responsive and useful especially if you use the google workspace suite (gmail, gdrive, google docs etc.). Drive is roomy and fast! Pictures show the drive in situ in the laptop after installation of new SSD and removal of the old drive. TIP: I suggest you leave the old hard drive bracket in place and just tape the screws to the bracket before you close up the laptop. This way, if you ever need to add a 2.5" drive back in, you have all the parts to do so. 👍🙂 ... show more

I've bought 256 and 128GB versions of these, still working after more than a year, but those didn't have the led. This little hard drive is perfect for my laptop. I was stuck with the onboard 256 GB and was running out of room. While this hard drive did not come with cloning software ( hence 4 stars) it is easy to perform with free software. I have been using this for a month now and have had no issues. Purchased to replace a dead SSD on ASUS Zenbook UX305CA. Perfect fit and excellent functionality. One caveat: there is a little red LED on the SSD that lights up indicating that the SSD is on. Given the layout and placement of the SSD on this particular laptop's board, this bright LED light pierced through the keyboard crevices, creating a noticeable red-colored glow somewhat similar to a backlit keyboard. May be annoying to some, but easily remedied by covering the LED with a small piece of electrostatic tape. All in all, a quality product at a great value. A++ ... show more

I use my M.2 SSD with a M.2 enclosure to store data. I get transfer speeds of 300 Megabytes/second, but when I benchmark it I get about 500 Megabytes/second. This SSD is much faster than a USB thumb drive, and it's cheaper as well.
