  • Wish it came with a drip tray
Arrived in excellent shape. Huge beautiful leaves. The boxes should be delivered upright so the soil doesn't fall out of the pot. But definitely worth it. Especially if you live somewhere that doesn't have many places to buy plants. Was well packed and so far isn't suffering any trauma. Would definitely buy again. ... show more

  • Love it!
I was very impressed with the quality of the plant when I got it out of the box. It is in beautiful shape and even has new leaves growing up out of the pot.

  • Poor condition upon arrival
Plant arrived severely dehydrated and wilted. Two leaves had already withered and died. White fungus or mold had grown on another leaf. After repotting and watering plant continues to decline. I am not sure it will survive. Very disappointed. This plant would never be sold in this condition at an actual greenhouse, let alone for this price. ... show more

  • Not Sure It Will Survive! :-(
The media could not be loaded. This beautiful plant arrived in ROUGH condition. The soil was 100% dried out and substrate debris was strung about the box. Several large leaves were totally dead and crispy. One of the sections snapped in transit and it’s definitely on its way to a withering death.* Worse yet, sections of the roots were exposed. I included a video that shows exactly how it looked upon arrival. (The 1st picture shows it 2 days later.) *Marantas can’t be propagated by placing pieces in water (like Pothos and many philodendrons can), so the broken portion is a total loss. Positive Note: I really appreciate that the seller didn’t utilize any non-recylable materials for shipping. (The only reason why it’s not 1 star.) Most of the plants I’ve purchased off Amazon come with a gross amount of low quality plastic materials. I was able to place everything in the recycling bin. With this appreciation acknowledged, more could have been done with the existing materials to better protect this plant for its journey. The only packing material was a piece of thick kraft paper wrapped around the diameter of the entire plant, which didn't provide adequate protection, as evidenced by the broken section and strewn soil. Unboxing created a total mess on my dining room table. No effort was taken to cover the base of the pot in order to contain the soil in place. Some of the kraft paper and a little tape would have worked. A little more crumbled up paper around the sides would have minimized movement and likely prevented the snapped portion. (Kinda like packing a nice crystal lamp.) There was no “Live Plant” label on the outside. (This often seems to make a huge difference in how it’s handled by the shipping company, in my experience.) At this point, I would still consider this worthy of “3 Stars.” BUT.... Here’s the thing that REALLY drops it... Upon close inspection, it appears that this was recently potted up. It looks like 3-4 small plants were grouped together. (It was difficult to tell at first, since the soil was such a mess.) As marantas aren’t known for their high tolerance, I deliberately sought out a plant that was larger. When I buy a plant that’s 6”, I’m thinking it’s more established and therefore able to better tolerate the shock of shipping and transport. This plant appeared to be like this, as seen in the product listing photos, where it depicts a plant that’s mature enough to start self-propagating (take a look at the shoots coming off it in the listing pics). What I can’t stand is when there are several little plantlets shoved into a 6” diameter nursery pot and immediately shipped out to be sold as a full, mature specimen. In terms of survival odds, this is even worse that buying a 4” or even 2” plant online. While they’re smaller, at least their root systems aren’t disturbed right before traveling cross country. Now the plant has not only has to recover from shipping and acclimating to its new environment, it’s doing so very soon after being repotted! This is like setting it up to die... I’m trying my best to give it a chance of survival: Gradually increasing the light to bright indirect in front of an East facing window, keeping the humidity level over 60% with the help of a humidifier and watering it only with distilled water. 2 days in, I can’t tell if it’s going to make it. Depending upon its response, I may have to bag the plant up for a full blown rehab. ... show more

  • Awesome plant!
It was good. Packages in a huge box for the dowel rod. I suggest opening it outside though. I got dirt everywhere inside lol had to cut a few broken leaves off but I was expecting that shine it was shipped. Overall it was great!
