The Shelly dimmer was easy to install and had many more features for really complex needs. I inserted it in a magnetic led transformer to manage on/off and dimmer function through my Amazon interface. It works flawlessly. Directions are brief, but there are RSS streams and videos on automation that can assist one with whatever their need. We had a smart microwave that the light would automatically turn on at night and when we go rid of it and put in just a hood over our stove my wife wanted the light to come on automatically. This product worked beautifully. The wiring took a little bit of Google electrician to get right since it can be wired a few different ways and to make the switch still functional. Also it will set a passcode by default and it is hard to find what the default code is on the instructions but it is there. 0000 if you need. I really wanted to like this thing, I really did. Installation wasn’t too hard, but after getting it installed, setup and configuration was a NIGHTMARE. There is no manual adjustment for dimming calibration, the app is kind of clunky and doesn’t make much sense, and to top it all off, if the lights are set to any less than 100% brightness, they flicker bad enough to make you turn them all the way off. I popped this one into a box to solve a lighting problem in my living room with some old ceiling fans and mirrored it to the zwave wall switch that was directly controlling the lights and I'm pretty happy with how well it's working. This fits perfectly inside the typical magnetic LED driver and dims an MR16 GU5.3 light admirably. YMMV depending on the MR16 but this one doesn't shut off until 12%. Will suit my needs.

I thought I was going to have to rewire my 1930's home (thousands of dollars) so I could have a single switch for 4 lights in our living room (all individually controlled at the fixture). I wasn't sure if Shelly products would work, but I tried it and installed 4x Dimmer 2 devices behind the lights, connected them with the app and Button 2, and all of them work! I couldn't believe it. It was very easy. I use Button 2 as a switch for on/off or other "scenes", plus I installed manual switches at each fixture as well. I had many email exchanges to determine if these would work. It wasn't a great interaction and at one point they told me no, but eventually I was confident enough to give it a try. The other downside is there is a delay when turning on from a button, or even a manual switch at the fixture. It's not terrible, but not instant. I don't mind at all though because I'm so happy with them working and it was so easy. Great product. ... show more

This device advertises to be able to dim lights without a neutral wire. I installed it to different types of dimmable LED bulbs, greater than 20 watts (60w total), ran the calibration, and all the light do are blink uncontrollably. Then the Wifi goes offline and cannot connect to device until power is cut. Then it comes back online and when you try to turn the light on, the lights flash uncontrollably and Wifi connection drops. Spend hours and hours to configure to no avail. I am very knowledgeable with smart device (i actually sell smart device on amazon) and also knowledgeable on how to wire circuits, switch, dimmers, etc. The product does not work as advertised.
