Used this to create an emergency kit. Everything seems to be built solid, I love that it's American made, and practically any padlock works with it. Definitely a worthwhile investment, especially if you want your contents to have more security than a standard ammo box.

Once I received my boxes I started loading one up and found that it is a slight squeeze to fit 80 9mm caliber rounds in a layer but all in all I was able to fit probably close to 900 rounds in it (not neatly put in got tired of laying them in nicely) no problem. The one that was left empty and has taken a bit of abuse from running kids and dogs and seems like it will hold up nicely. While the one that is full weighing a good 30 or so pounds seems to handle the weight very well when carried by the handle. There was one issue with one of the two cases that I had ordered which was the metal piece in the middle latch area was missing ( but still lockable/useable via the 2 side lock areas) so I called Amazon and the issue was promptly fixed (less then 5 minutes on the phone) which I am very happy about. Over all this seems like a very good product for its price and will most likely buy more of them in the future. ... show more

Don't let the size fool you. I remove the ammo from the boxes and store them in here and can carry a lot. Use them for storage obviously. Do not how much weight the handle and hinges could carry. But so far so good.
