All the screws and gears line up well. Comes with pllenty of extra ice molds and I save them up in a gallon freezer bag. The ice seems to shave better if you let it sit out for 5 or ten minutes and let it start sweating a little bit.

this ice shave attachment installs easily on to any kitchenaid stand mixer...it's fairly easy to use, and comes with a half dozen recipes of flavored ices and ice creams. one downside is you must use their included small cups to create pucks that fit into the shaver...i'd hoped you could use your own ice, but that's not the case. additionally, the device is not dishwasher safe; the included instructions are only to rinse it with warm water. ... show more

We like this item. It works with our Kitchen-Aid mixer. I noticed that several reviewers were annoyed that you don't just throw ice cubes into this ice shaver attachment, so I thought I would point out that shaved ice is not the same as a snow cone. A Snoopy snow-cone machine might be what you want if you want to make a treat out of ground up ice cubes. Shaved ice is a bit different. To make true shaved ice, you will have to start with a big, flat chunk of ice, so there is always going to be some pre-planning involved with shaved ice. I like this shave ice attachment for my Kitchen Aid stand mixer. It fits my mixer perfectly. The instructions were easy to follow, and it produced very fine shaved ice in a few short minutes. It's easy to make your own ice pucks with the included 8 ice molds. I expected it to be louder than it was so that is a bonus. I like that the instruction booklet also includes a few recipes for more tasty treats than just the plain ice with syrup. This will be a hit during the hot summer months. ... show more

Wanted this to make slushes for my 4 granddaughters...after 2 pucks, it stops shaving ice. Did an exchange hoping it was just a messed up item. Received 2nd one and after a couple pucks, it stops shaving. 😢

If you are a fan of shaved ice, this is a great tool! It is well made and great quality. It works exactly as it says and it is easy to use. The ice is shaved and not chunky for the perfect melt-in-your-mouth texture. It works fast, and the containers do not take up too much space. At any minute, I can pull together snow cones. I am able to store all of the containers in the bottom of the drawer in my freezer and still able to use the draw for other items. I love that the containers are sealed so you don't have to worry about freezer smells. It is worth the price; if your kids love to go to Bahama bucks, this will save you so much money. I look forward to the summer when we will get a ton of use from this product. If you are thinking about it, I highly recommend it. One block of ice, makes about a small, if you want a medium or large you have to use 2 blocks. I do hope that they will sell more containers, they pack up easy and I would be able to buy more to have ready if there is a party. No complaints at all..
