This refurbished Shark vacuum cleaner looks and functions like a new vacuum. The only problem is it was missing a small part that is instrumental in attaching the hose to the vacuum cleaner, the hose holder. Amazon was unable to provide replacement for a missing part and wanted the entire product returned for a refund or replacement, when all I needed was a small plastic part (shown in photo). Rather than spend my time disassembling, re-packaging, and returning the vacuum I spent the money to order the part myself on eBay. Disappointed but good product otherwise. ... show more

The vacuum arrived quickly. The box is heavy. It’s easy to put together. It’s easy to use, but slightly heavy if you are an older individual. The cord is long, which is good, but it does get in my way as most vacuum cords do. I have a dog and I vacuum every day, but I never felt the carpet was clean. After one use of this new shark vacuum, more hair and dirt came out of the carpet than ever before. Great suction. Easy to empty. The attachments are easy to use. It’s quieter than I expected. This is THE worst vacuum cleaner and I should've paid more attention to the reviews for both the vacuum AND warranty. To top it off, I called Shark and they walked me through troubleshooting I stated I already did and they video recorded the whole thing, then continued to tell me they couldn't help me because I purchased 2 year warranty through Asurion Protection. So, I called Asurion and they made a claim, stated I needed to find a box (which it didn't come in one) and stated that "I" need to drop it off at UPS Store (they don't come to the house) and said my refund would end up on an Amazon Gift Card... what?! Expensive vacuum, no suction, broke on me... no refund on my credit card?? I asked if it could just be replaced and the rep said, "no because it is through Amazon." I asked why ANY of this is not recorded in the warranty info prior to purchasing a plan and she said "because it is through Amazon." I said "this makes no effin sense whatsoever and now I have the job of lugging this thing AFTER I try to find a appropriate size box AND I don't get refunded no replacement - I get a GIFT CARD?!! Lucky me... don't waste your time or money on this terrible thing. And to top it off, I "PAID" for 2 yr protection and NOT getting refunded on that!! ... show more

    • The vacuum for the owner of a very long haired dog!
What can I say, I have a dog that sheds foot long dark hair year round. You can take apart a vac and clean it only so many times before the hair you can't get to destroys the machine. I usually replace rollers if I can. Still, I have been going through one or two machines a year, and the $500 pet ones have not held up any better than the $50 dorm room ones. My assessment on the Shark pet, based on selling them at Lowe's for 5 years. The noise and suction are like any other. Filters are easy to get to, and cheap to replace. ROLLER DID NOT .... DID NOT GET WRAPPED IN LONG DOG HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This, to me, is worth the price of the machine, and the canister was full. 25' cord is not a problem for me, in my small house. I ran it for about a half hour, living room, dining room, bedroom and studio (picked up a couple of ???) . Embarrassing amount of dog hair in canister. On Amazon, it sells for $229 or $169 refurbished. Being cheap, I got the refurbished one, and it looked new. I also bought the 2 yr extended warranty because if it last that long, I will be ecstatic, and if not, I can get 100% refund, or replacement. July 2021... a few months in...... It's working great. I have only once had to remove a few strands of hair... very few. All my previous ones I would need to stop and remove the hair every time and none lasted more than 6 months. I even don't need to rake it anymore (these dogs shed constantly). I really like this machine. UP date: Ok, really super geeky here. By the end of a year, usually I go through two or more because of dogs and long hair. This year, I have had to clean the roller once, and only clogged this one up because of wood chips from carving. It shocks me that I have not had to take this apart. I give this a thumbs up. Still a 5 star product. ... show more

I have been house keeping for many years. I won’t consider another vacuum. I’ve been purchasing this brand and style since they came out. I recently purchased one using the “used Amazon verified” system and after a thorough inspection and several weeks of use I have to admit for a fraction It was as though brand new. Easily comparable to all newer models I own, and I own five. I was so very impressed with this route I even purchased a second one, used. It was also without flaws!
