I've had this for 1.25 years now and truly enjoy it. I read in Consumer Reports that a stick vacuum could not serve as the primary vacuum in a house but I disagree. This has a great crevice tool attachment as well as the base with the brush has two speeds. I use the harsher speed for rugs and sofas and it mostly gets all the pet hair and crumbs off of them. I may have read a review by a person using this as part of their cleaning business and saying that the suction was not what they had hoped and maybe that's appropriate for someone cleaning such a wide variety of households. However, I find that this is more than enough for a household and it works exceptionally well with wood floors. The best part, which is new to me, are the on-board lights. Both the base with the brush as well as the handle at the top of the wand have bright LEDs. I often vacuum without the lights on (it is daytime, after all) and the on-board lights highlight where the dirt and dust really is. I will never go back to a vacuum without lights. Drawbacks: this does not come with a holder for the attachments. I separately purchased one that attaches to the wand but I feel this should be standard. Secondly, the cord is fine and after my experiences with cordless vacuums dying too quickly, I will stick with a corded vacuum. This uses a stiff cord so when wrapping it or hanging it, it kinks up a bit. It's likely the nature of having to shield the cord and provide enough power, but I long for the day when a vacuum has a less-kinky cord. ... show more

    • I LOVE IT! Versatile, powerful, lightweight.
I just bought this for a vacation home and wanted something heavy-duty, versatile, and lightweight that can handle lots of cleaning and not beat up my hardwood floors. This unit did not disappoint! We spent a solid week cleaning a very dirty cabin and this vacuum was our MVP. The house is 3 floors so there were lots of stairs and I love that you can detach the "stick" from the base, or even turn it into a handvac by detaching the handheld part from the stick. (It also includes narrow arm and brush attachments, both of which came in handy.) It is lightweight enough to maneuver on steps and reach up to corners without worrying about clobbering yourself in the process. I love the lights that shine wherever you are vacuuming. It helps you not suck up anything you couldn't see otherwise, it helps you see where there is still some dirt or cobwebs you might have missed, and it's just gratifying to see the dirt as you push forward and see it disappear by the time you pull backward. Two drawbacks: 1) It doesn't stand upright on its own 2) There is no place on the vacuum to store the attachments when they are not in use I almost didn't buy it because of #1, and now I realize what a mistake that could have been. It is a bummer, but everything else is so worth it that I don't even mind. And #2 is only relevant when you're doing deep cleans and switching between the attachments often.     • It's not Purple but Still Works Well
So let's get the negatives out of the way. It's not purple, it's black. Not a huge deal for me, I honestly don't care what color my vacuum cleaner is but if it matters to you, take note. It also didn't come with any instructions and was missing the attachment clip that is shown in the pictures. I don't care for the fact that it will not stand upright. If you aren't holding it or don't have it braced against something it will fall over. Now for the positives. Amazing suction! It sucks my hair right up with no issues (I have long hair that doesn't like to stay on my head, it's been the downfall of many a vacuum cleaner). It worked great on my wood floors and my carpet. I appear to have gotten extra attachments as well, not sure what they are for, one looks like it would be great for cleaning blinds. I have always HATED vacuum cleaners and vacuuming: the noise, the cord catching, the canister banging into walls and unwrapping gross hair from the roller-thing! i've done my best all my adult life to leave that chore to someone else - to the the point where I didn't even own a vacuum anymore. But...now I just adopted two dogs, who happen to both be white and big shedders, so things were getting a bit out of hand in the house, dog-hair wise. So I googled "best vacuum for dog hair" and this one came up. And yes, it is! Picks it right up from floors and rugs, and yes, no wrapping of human hair and what-else around the roller but best of all is the design! There are bright headlight type lights on all parts, so you can see exactly what you're vacuuming which is fun and satisfying, and all parts detach and attach with ease and a nice resounding click! Plus, every latch that attaches and detaches a part is clearly labeled, so no guess work involved. It's a powerful little thing, quick and easy to take out and put away, with a cord long enough to prevent having to continually interrupt the hypnotic pleasure I now find in vacuuming, in order to bend down and pull out the plug and then search for another outlet, and the cord does not catch or tangle. The motor, or engine really, is loud. It kicked up my tinnitus the day after my first big vacuuming fest. So young and old should protect their ears. Other than that, this little vacuum has made me a vacuuming enthusiast, and oh yes, my house is no longer buried in snowy dog hair. ... show more

    • Finally! My go to vacuum.
There is only one annoying feature about this vacuum, that it will not stand upright. Otherwise I can’t say anything against it. It’s so super east to change from regular vacuum to a long wand to snatch a spider web or to a short hand vac. Cleaning up is a breeze however I check all the filters every use and find I have to wash the sponge filter every time. The canister just dumps into the trash and then I rinse it out. No bags, no vacuum smell and it cleans better than a big machine. I thought I would never find a vacuum that didn’t end up with hair wrapped around the roller but this thing is king! Makes my life so much easier and takes up less storage space than any other vacuuming have tried. Wish I had bought this long ago. ... show more
