Top Amazon Reviews

πŸš€ Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Shark WV201 Wandvac is highly praised for its strong suction, ease of use and effective vacuuming of small, light debris. It has been reported as the perfect tool for quick and light tasks, such as cleaning stairs and cat litter. However, it's been noted that it struggles with bigger cleaning tasks due to its short battery life and the limited size of its collection tank. It is suggested that this product won't replace a more powerful vacuum, but can significantly reduce the need for one.

Pros

  • πŸ‘ Strong suction power
  • πŸ‘ Great ergonomics and aesthetic design
  • πŸ‘ Efficient for quick clean-ups
  • πŸ‘ Includes HEPA compliant filters

Cons

  • πŸ‘Ž Short battery life (around 9-10 minutes)
  • πŸ‘Ž Not suitable for large cleaning tasks
  • πŸ‘Ž Difficulty accessing cloth filter for cleaning
  • πŸ‘Ž Can stir up dust in tight spaces due to the placement of the exhaust ports

Should I Buy It?

If your cleaning needs mainly consist of quick, light tasks, the Shark WV201 Wandvac makes a good buy. However, for longer, more detailed cleaning, or if you're targeting larger debris or a larger space, consider a more heavy-duty vacuum with longer battery life. Always remember to regularly clean the filters for optimal performance.

  • Great for quick smaller jobs, but remember to clean the filter
Color: Black
As a clumsy and disabled person I appreciate the Shark WANDVAC a lot. It is fairly light, easy to hold, and great for quick jobs without the need to pull out a bigger and bulkier unit. It has good suction, while being quiet enough as not to freak my cats out. I literally cleaned up next to my most skittish cat and is freak-o-meter only went up to "What?!?", and nowhere near his normal "OMGOMG We-Are-All-Going-To-Die!!!!!!". It has good suction, but isn't going to pull anything deeply embedded in a carpet or floor mat, The release button is conveniently located on the handle, so it is easy to place the whole thing in the garbage and then release it's contents all at once. My only real complaint is that its base is really designed to sit on the floor, and not be wall mounted. There are worse problems to have. I have seen some complaints about battery life, but it isn't one I have. I have filled the little canister three times in a row on a full battery and could keep going, and if your job is that big then you are probably using the wrong tool. However if the filter is full it will *appear* like the battery is low and needs to be charged. The power light will blink and it will stop working, and putting it back in the base for a bit will allow you to use it again, until it stops again. All this makes it feel like the battery has lost capacity, but really the filter is full and it shuts down to protect the motor (a good thing!). So just make sure to clean the filter periodically, and replace it when it can't be cleaned anymore. ... show more

  • SHARK, THE MANUFACTURER OF THISPRODUCT, CARES ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS
Color: Rose Gold
After receiving delivery from Amazon of Shark’s WV201RGBRN WANDVAC Cordless Hand Vac, I learned the following: 1. Receiving a product from Amazon does not mean that the product received is as-intended at time of purchase. I received an unsealed product box with an attachment missing. As directed by the product brochure, I called the SHARK Customer Service number. (The brochure is -- and should be -- enclosed in the product box.) I spoke with a very kind, responsive, and responsible SHARK CUSTOMER SERVICE representative. He advised me to register the Shark product (which I did by providing him with the requested information). He IMMEDIATELY facilitated dispatch to me of the missing attachment to the vac. NOTE: I called SHARK on Tuesday (after receiving delivery and checking the product box contents) and received the attachment from SHARK on Saturday. SHARK provided contemporaneous information re. fulfillment, dispatch, and delivery. I rate SHARK OUTSTANDING. (Thank you, SHARK!) 2. It was only after I called SHARK that I noted two Amazon coded stickers on the product box (a red and a white sticker that I have not previously encountered with prior purchases). Accordingly, I reached out to Amazon to ask if the product I received was new product or returned merchandise. I did NOT receive an answer to my question but noted that Amazon unilaterally began a 'RETURN" process -- directing me to go to a UPS Store that same week -- within a couple of days. When I objected and noted that I had registered the purchase and intended to keep it, I was also told that replacement (that I, also, did not request) would NOT be possible. 3. By this point in time I had watched multiple Youtube videos about the Shark Ion handheld vac and I used the vac; I realized that, among other things: a. It is an effective and impressive cleaning appliance b. It has small dust cup capacity and needs to be emptied perhaps more frequently than experienced by some consumers with other product.. c. If not emptied and/or if the filter needs cleaning/changing, the fully charged vac may, among other things, cut-off and/or otherwise not effectively perform. (Some posted that the product may feel warm.) d. Per the instructions, even fully charged produces minutes of operation. (The internet -- consumer postings) indicate ranges of time from 3 to 8 to 10 minutes; the outer end (not often mentioned) was 30 minutes. e. Despite what may be considered practical operational 'limitations', the effectiveness of the fully functioning vac is lauded. It is important to keep in mind the manufacturer's representations regarding intended use (such as small spill cleanup). 4. My personal conclusions: a. This product, perhaps designed as a limited-use handheld, is so effective in short-time use that consumers wish there was longer operational time and larger capacity. It is lightweight and well-designed. It is VERY effective/powerful when appropriately functioning. b. This clean-up tool is not designed for longer time and larger capacity use. c. SOME CONSUMERS report longer operational time and less need to clean or change filters. d. It may be prudent to have a supply of filters on-hand. e. SHARK has evidenced caring about its product and consumers being able to use their products effectively. f. YOUTUBE videos, as well as information provided by SHARK in its brochure and other product-related information, help even the most unmechanically-inclined consumer to understand product operation and care. 5. I have encountered challenges with my purchase of this product but at this point in time I would not hesitate to purchase additional Shark products from SHARK At this point, given the foregoing about the handheld vac I have had for less than one week, I am impressed that SHARK cares about its products and consumers of its products. I have concerns about long-term full functionality and keeping the product plugged in/charging continually but will rely on SHARK instructions. ... show more

  • So Glad I Bought This
Color: Sage Green
I own two vacuums … one full vacuum with all the bells and whistles and a stick-vac with a roller brush. I also own an upright carpet cleaner and a smaller hand-held one. My husband has his favorite mop and I have mine. Can you tell we like to keep our floors clean? We have 4 cats, two very long haired, and a dog with an always-shedding undercoat. I am so tired of pet hair! But, it is sometimes just overkill to get out one of the vacuums, which may or may not be on a different floor of the house than where we want to use it. I was actually looking for a replacement of a Black & Decker hand-vac that we used to have. I saw this Shark model, though, and decided to give it a try. Besides over 15,000 reviews, it was also available in my favorite green color (that’s always a good way to judge appliances, right?). Wow, I absolutely love this thing. It has great suction, the dirt cup holds a lot, and the filters are super easy to keep clean. And, I get a real kick out of the way the dirt cup FLINGS the dirt into the trash can when I hit the button to open up. Super cool! I see many happy years with this (fingers crossed). The color and style blend in so I’m able to keep it in its charger on the shelf in my kitchen where I also keep my cookbooks. Blended in but easily accessible, and super easy to put back into the charger. Finally, it is lightweight and easy to carry around with me. LOVE IT. ... show more

  • Attachments dilute suction power
Color: Slate
This is a very handy little vacuum with plenty of power and long battery life, especially when compared to my Dyson handheld that now sits on the shelf because I prefer using the Shark. It's also much sleeker than the Dyson, and a lot less clumsy to hold. I use it around the desk in my home office, and it works very well to get all kinds of crumbs, paper scraps, and dog hair off the floor. It does a solid job likewise on the crevasses on my stairway carpeting. It has a nice recharging base that sits unobtrusively next to my paper shredder. The only problem is with the attachments. For some reason the suction drops off significantly when using these. One nozzle is only about 6 inches long but dust and dirt seem immune to collection when using it. However, if you pass the base unit over them they get sucked up no problem. The collection bin is slightly small, but I have never noticed it getting too full before finishing a job. It is designed for small jobs, not vacuuming a carpeted room. It is also relatively solid and doesn't feel flimsy. ... show more
