I am TOTALLY impressed with this vacuum! I have an extremely expensive overpriced Rainbow due to my son's allergies. He has since grown up and moved out of the house AND his allergies are only seasonal now. Long story short I am over lugging around the Rainbow. I can't empty it in my toilet or sinks because we live in the country and have septics. I decided to try this refurbished unit due to the ridiculous inflation we are all suffering through. This pulls up just as much dirt as my Rainbow and I don't have to dump water. The clear bin that holds the dirt always has a fine soot like dirt in the bottom. We live in the country and dirt is simply the way it is but to have it in your house is just over the top. I will say this takes a little finesse to use. Hold on to it because it wants to walk away from you. Lol. It's THAT strong!! My favorite feature is the brushless beater bar. Nothing gets tangled in it and it helps to plump up my carpet without destroying the nap. It doesn't snag it. The next favorite thing is the fact you can turn it into a hand held unit to do stairs and use the wand to do corners with just a push of a button. I have no earthly idea why the original purchaser sent it back for repair but it is absolutely perfect! Great job making the repair. I would buy another one for any one of my kids. The price is right and is simply a superior product over one of the worlds most expensive home vacuums, the Rainbow. Fantastic product!!! ... show more

    • The second one is better
I was a bit worried about getting a refurbished vacuum but I didn't have enough money for the new one. I got one and it worked fine and had all the parts. It was very clean but the only complaint I had was that the cord had a part of the outer coating missing all the way down to the copper wire. I had to send it back to get a new one. This second one is better but has parts of the cord that also look chewed on. I think you need to be careful to not let the cord get run over because it can ruin the cord. This vacuum is very powerful! Some of my area rugs are not able to be vacuumed because it is just that powerful and even on the min setting, it is still very powerful and sucks up my thin rugs. It does an amazing job on carpet and even my thicker carpet looks so good compared to what my Shark Rocket could do.     • Good Filtration. Easy to clean after use.
This Shark Vacuum has good Filtration. Filters are easy to clean (rinse out in water) or replace. The roll brush breaks up any hair or animal fur so it doesn't clog up. The best feature: very lightweight unit. Does the job extremely well!!

OK, I think this is the best vacuum out there! This thing has great suction to be so lightweight. The cord is long enough that you don’t have to go and unplug and plug in from room to room. It comes apart for you to lift and do your sailing fans if you wanna get higher up. I don’t believe I’ll be buying another vacuum unless it’s to replace this one with another shark. My workplace has these vacuums and they have held up over the years. I felt like it was my turn to buy one. I have not experienced any clogging or dust buildup. ... show more

We vac our garage floor. With having 2 very hairy dogs, it grabs up all the hair and no cleaning that beater bar. We also have indoor/outdoor carpet on our deck. Grabs up everything with no cleaning.

    • Lightweight but Powerful
This is my first Shark product having been a loyal Dyson consumer. However my cordless Dyson Stick Handheld battery died after just two years. Bought another one from Dyson and it lasted three more years. That was ridiculous for a $350 product. We also had a Dyson vacuum cleaner from the mid 2000s and it did last us about 10 years, going through these two vacuum cleaners, let us to decide we would find something else. After reading many reviews including those here on Amazon and on various Facebook groups that involve cleaning and organizing, we decided on the Shark. It seemed from the reviews, the biggest negative of this particular shark vacuum is that it was not quite as good or not did not have quite as good features rather as the step up higher. However, those features did not seem to be worth the price difference to us. And they were features we did not already have so we were not going to miss them. The lift away feature on this device was a huge selling point for me as we have stairs and that has always been a problem trying to vacuum them. Since receiving this last week, my husband and I both are wanting to vacuum lol I figure if my husband wants to vacuum, that’s a good enough reason to like the new vacuum cleaner! What I like about it best is the lightness, the way it rotates, and how well it picks up animal fur off of carpet. We have a cat that sheds pretty badly. Honestly, the only negative so far has been the small size of the canister, which does have to be emptied more often than our previous vacuum. The positives are well worth the trade-off. I can’t speak to the longevity or reliability yet since we’ve only had it less than a week. But so far I love it. ... show more

    • Basically a very good machine just a couple of issues.
This is my 3rd Shark purchased over 5 years the only reason I've had buy new ones is that I've moved into larger homes and my needs changed. This model is powerful and included good attachments and as they are interchangeable between all the machines I've got everynattachment I could need. My only reason for the four star rating is that when in carpet mode it often fails to self-propel so I have to turn it off and restart it. My other issue is simply that the switch for hard floor to, carpet should be on the handle as opposed to on the main unit. Its seems minor but as I'm disabled everytime I bend over I'm in pain. Shark makes great vacuum cleaners at extremely affordable prices. ... show more
