I've had this vacuum for a little over 3 years now and it is still going strong; it is the best vacuum I've ever owned bar none. When it goes I will get another Shark, this model if it's still available. I cannot say enough good things about it. I do the filter changes within the recommended time frames that I'm supposed to and honestly the motor is just so powerful and the suction has stayed just as strong as when I first bought it. Off-brand filters are incredibly easy to find as well and are very reasonably priced. The attachments that come with the vacuum are incredibly versatile and well made. The wand release and lift away feature are so helpful with getting stairs. All of the bristles on the main brush are still very together and firm there's absolutely no wear on them or fraying. Some people like to say " they don't build them like they used to" about a lot of consumer products out there. Well... those people would be wrong about this vacuum this is probably one of the best things you can buy for your household and count on it to work reliably day after day year after year. I would also like to add that I have been a bit rough with this vacuum like I am not a delicate person I've slammed this thing around a bit. am I the only person out there who really puts their rage and emotion into their vacuuming? I seriously doubt it but let me tell you this vacuum can handle just about anything you can throw at it. Also, I love how easy it is to clean hair and strands of fiber or string out of the main brush roll with the rich grooves that they've created in the brush roll itself so that you can slide a sharp pair of scissors or a knife into the groove and cut the fibers or hairs and then pull them out from the brush roll. It's really hard to understand why all vacuums aren't designed the way that this one is and have the features that this one does and have the kind of quality that the shark vacuum does. I swear that I'm not a bot or some kind of like salesperson for shark this is just really an awesome vacuum and I could rant about it all day because out of all the things that I use in my house on a daily basis this is probably my favorite and not only that but it actually looks nice too. you know how a lot of things that are white plastic that you buy get that ugly yellow dinge within a short amount of time? This vacuum is not in that category mine still is the same nice white color It had when it was purchased. All of the rubber and silicone dust seals and the places where different components of the vacuum that are removable meat are still very well sealed and there are no air leaks in the hose either I swear to God this vacuum is like a miracle that something this could can actually exist. Most stuff made out there by most companies whether it be cell phones or cars are designed to break I feel like within a few years. Maybe I just somehow got a magical vacuum that was like blessed by you know the goddesd of home economics or something but in all seriousness BUY THE VACUUM. ... show more

the first one of these we purchased, we had for 14 years. This is the best vacuum cleaner we have ever had. Our old one gave out and we were very happy this model was still available. Easy to maneuver. Easy to maintain and discard of dirt and dust. I remove the dirt and dust outdoors as this machine really picks up a lot of debris; dirt, dust, pet hair, etc. Very durable and long life. Thank God they still made this model! ... show more

I bought this vacuum 6-8 years ago and it still works like it did when we first got it. I love all the attachments that comes with it and it’s versatility! It’s light weight and it has a powerful suction when vacuuming and when you use the handle with the attachments!! I also love that it has a filter that can be cleaned!! Which saves money and the hassle of having to keep purchasing new filters and hoping that this long after they still make those filters! It also has bight lights In front of the vacuum that helps me to notice lose change or other small metal/hard pieces that I may not have seen. There is nothing that I do not like about this vacuum!     • It sucks (the good way) but does have some sucky features

I’ve now had this vacuum for more than two months and use it on average 3 times per week. Pro’s: this vacuum has great sucking power. I also really enjoy how well the head swivels. The suction control ring is also nice when you’re trying to vacuum things like door mats and smaller rugs. The self-cleaning “brush” roller does seem to work great. I have a long-haired cat who sheds like the devil, and in the past, our loose hair together would quickly compromise past machine’s brush rolls. This one is staying clean like a champ - which is really what enticed me to buy it to begin with. So big win there! Now, the CONS: The cord really is pretty short. I saw someone else mention this, but I thought surely it was long enough to quickly vacuum my small studio apartment (750sqft) without changing outlets… and I was wrong. I actually have to unplug it twice to clean all of my floors. That’s not the biggest deal but my last vacuum had a much longer cord. Another big disappointment is I’m not entirely sold on the detachable hose/bucket construction. I actually rarely will take the bucket and hose off the wheeled base because it’s cumbersome and kinda pointless. Instead I’ll take the hose attachment off and vacuum in small nooks and crannies… but unfortunately the vacuum isn’t balanced well enough and it almost always falls over, even when I try not to stretch the hose too far. The big frustration with this is that it always falls on me since that’s the direction the hose is being pulled in. And it slams into you pretty hard due to the balance being wonky. It actually scraped and cut my elbow earlier tonight, which was rude. A couple other disappointments is that the brush housing is a bit bulkier than my last vacuums, so I can’t get it under the edges of furniture as easily… and to be honest if they were going to make it bulky like this, I wish they’d at least added a “sweep” light for better vacuuming visibility. My last note is just that the filters on it are just two layers of foam. Not quite as durable nor as easy to clean/dry as some of the filters on my past vacuums. Overall this is still great machine for the price… but after a couple of months using it these cons do routinely disappointment me when in use. Definitely a great machine and reliable, but if you’re used to smaller profile vacuums, this may take some adjustment. ... show more
