We’ve owned two I robots in the past and we’re currently using our last one purchased, I was apprehensive to buy the Shark brand since we had bought a mid-grade upright corded one 5 years ago which we never liked due to poor performance. I purchased this as an early Christmas gift for my wife, after using it for the last three weeks I can attest to the great cleaning and mapping capabilities. My wife loves loves the self contained feature which requires very little upkeep, the mopping feature which we weren’t expecting to be very useful is one of her favorite features, we have wood and brick pavers in our house with only two small guest bedrooms that have carpet in these. The carpet is mid-pile depth, the vaccum does a okay job on it, this is the only weak point of the unit. The lifting capabilities of the unit is great it works well, it rarely gets stuck. The shark is much better than the 960 I-robot we had, the performance and mapping capabilities are substantially better. The 960 had become unusable due to the unit not recharging. I purchased for 699.00 on Black Friday but if I had payed full price I would be happy with the purchase. ... show more

    • Clean floors at last!

I have tried multiple robots with mopping features and without mopping features. We have 3 dogs, 2 of those dogs are big dogs (one is a Rottie) that shed and track in dirt from outside. I have been extremely frustrated with keeping the dirt, fur, and dust under control. THIS IS THE ANSWER!!!! Omgoodness!! I cannot get over how much BETTER this is than the Roomba I just bought this past May. Not only does it clean 100% better, but it also is soooooo much quieter. I don’t even have to adjust the volume on the TV while it’s running. If you have pets and don’t want to mop your floors every day, this will make your life A LOT easier!!!! The only downside is that it’s bagless, but since I don’t have to buy bags, is it really that bad of a downside? My floors are finally clean!!! No more dog fur and muddy paw prints. It has no problems finding the base, the suction is very powerful, and the overall design is very thoughtful. I’m thrilled with how well it works! Update: so, I learned that I have to run this twice a day to keep my floors clean. I also learned that it’s not very good at cleaning up larger (yet small) things like dog food kibble. Those things get stuck and make the worst noise imaginable. Still, it’s a solid machine because even the Roomba struggles with kibble. However, the Roomba doesn’t make so much noise when the pieces get stuck. It’s minor really, but annoying at the same time — especially when I runs twice a day every day. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Our main level is all tile and about 2k sqft. The unit vacuums and mops daily and I can honestly say the floors look amazing and feel clean on your bare feet. It is expensive, but the time it frees up for me was worth it. Only drawback is the clean water tank is too small. I have to fill it every other day. But it takes 2-3 minutes so it isn’t a huge hassle. But I would for sure love to see them upgrade it in the future. ... show more

    • So Much Better than Roomba!!!!! Quiet!!

I was skeptical about this vacuum. How could a product that is 1/3 the cost of a Roomba be as good? I have a 2,700 sq ft hours but only use the robot for the main areas. I keep the bedrooms closed as a housekeeper takes care of vacuuming those every two weeks. Most of my house is tile floors and I have three small dogs that shed very little. I've owned a Roomba 960 for about 5 years and was constantly frustrated with it. It got stuck regularly and almost never completed a full cycle. Additionally, we would often turn it off because the noise was so obnoxious. We couldn't run it at night because of the noise and I work from home on regular Zoom calls so I couldn't run it during the day either so the only time available was to run it in the evenings and the noise was too much to deal with while trying to watch TV or even have a conversation. Finally, I had to replace the battery about 4 times and the aftermarket batteries don't work well and the Roomba batteries are seriously expensive. So....when I saw this Shark, I was skeptical of the price and quality. BUT I WAS WRONG!! THIS IS AN AMAZING PRODUCT!. It is very quiet so I can run it during the day, evening or night with no problems. It rarely gets stuck and only stops when it gets a stick my dogs bring in from the back yard stuck in the roller. I'm OK with that! I now run it every day. The brushes run slower than a Roomba but there is logic to that as they do a great job of moving the debris into the path of the roller. The roller-brush (only one) is much narrower than a Roomba but because the brushes do such a good job of guiding the debris, that doesn't seem to matter. The docking station with the automatic emptying processes works incredibly well. Once the Shark's bin is full, it returns to the docking station and the vacuum (very strong) in the docking station sucks out the debris into a large cup that I only have to empty about once a week. It then goes right back to where it left off and continues its cycle. When the battery runs low, it returns to the docking station, empties the bin and charges. Once the Shark is recharged, it goes right back to where it left off again and continues the cycle. The mapping program seems to work very well and I love that the Shark uses a more logical vacuuming pattern compared to the Roomba. I honestly can't think of any negatives. I would like to be able to just pause the Shark while I'm on a call instead of returning it to the station but that isn't a big deal since its so quiet. If you are looking for a good robot vacuum and don't want to shell out close to $1,000 for a similar Roomba, this is your product! ... show more

    • No more dog hair everywhere!

I love everything about this robot! We have a dog that sheds A LOT so I schedule this robot to vacuum everyday at 5am for the common areas. For the last 3 weeks since I got this, we have NO MORE dog hair everywhere. I also manually run it to do the mopping every other day and the bedrooms (vacuum) before the mop runs when they need it. You do need to wait 8 hours after a mop run before you do any vacuum runs. I had another brand back in the early 2000's and had to clean the robot itself daily - this one DOES NOT need intense work like that. The self-empty bins are great (but with our dog hair load, I empty the vacuum bin once every few days - super easy and no dirty hands! I have only cleaned the robot itself once so far. The only wish is that we could schedule multiple runs on the same day at different times (e.g., to vacuum the bedrooms on M-W-F in the daytime, and to schedule mop runs after the vacuum runs on the same day for various areas) ... show more
