I had another Shark Navigator many years ago and it was a great vacuum also but had a longer hose on it, to which I fond that this models hose is not as long and when I am using the wand on it there is just not enough length to easily use for many areas that I am trying to reach. The suction is great on carpet, not the best on hard floors without the brush roll going, so that's a little obnoxious for my neighbors in the apartment below me I'm sure. Lol. The vaccuum also only goes back and forth, the head doesn't swivel for ease of going around corners. For some reason I expected that to be a standard feature that most vaccuums have now adays. My parent's Shark has the swivel feature. I don't remember seeing that in the description or not, but if you are wanting a vaccuum that easily maneuvers around corners, this ain't it. Otherwise its a great vaccuum for the price. Lightweight and does the job. Can't complain. When I move out into a bigger place some day, I'll probably get a vaccuum that has more features, but this is a great starter vaccuum and great for small homes. :) ... show more

It’s light to carry, durability seems to be *chefs kiss*, functionality of a professional carpet cleaner, easily removes & picks up dirt/etc. from rugs/carpet/hardwood floors/crevices (thanks to the tools included)/etc., very low noise level (as in — it doesn’t bother a household filled with neurodivergent kids & myself whom all have very sensitive, borderline supernatural hearing), and it doesn’t need charged since you just plug it in and go! I purchased this vacuum after I bought a much more expensive one made by the sharper image. The sharper image vacuum worked well at first but broke within 2 weeks of using it. The first time I used this vacuum i was absolutely shocked at how much hair, dust, dirt, and everything else it sucked up. Equally shocking was how much hair my wife sheds, lol. Easy to assemble, lightweight are the best part of the vacuum. Replacing a Dyson so big shoes to fill. Basics, cable 8 feet shorter than Dyson, all brush roller bar collects hair and needs to be brushed out - short hair cats only but still collects on bar. Old vacuum had combination solid beater and brushes on roller - this vacuum has two settings, bare floor and carpet. Instructions say to lessen suction to make vacuuming carpets easier which is ridiculous. I suspect it’s because the motor will likely have a shortened life if full suction used on carpet. I gave low nape carpet and the motor seems to struggle - whole vacuum seems to be made of cheap components and every time I vacuum I smell the rubber belt. I personally wouldn’t recommend this at the price I paid - this vacuum will last maybe three years and that’s about $65 a year. My old vacuum lasted 12 years and that while more expensive worked out to $20 a year over time. The three stars was a bit generous. ... show more
