I love this vacuum! My previous Shark stick vac is 8 yrs old and was starting to wear out. Because I did have trouble with hair wrapped around the roller, I thought I'd get something different. I bought and returned 2 other brand vacs. Hated them after 5 minutes. I went back to Shark and found this one. It is very powerful, absolutely love the brush & roller fin system. It really does keep the hair from wrapping and the soft roller basically dusts the tile floor. The cord is very long so you can vacuum a lot of area before moving it. They really improved the dirt cup too. It detaches from the motor unit so you don't have to unplug the entire thing and carry it to the garbage like my old one. I like the on board storage for the accessories but mainly use it while it is stored. If you try and vacuum with them on, you tend to knock them off constantly. It also vacuums up all the hair and sand that we have in abundance due to living in the desert and having 3 indoor/ outdoor dogs, people with boots & a long haired cat. ... show more

When we were vacuuming the small rugs in our house, it lifted them off the ground it was so powerful. It didn't move the carpet though. There is a cool light on the base of the machine that turns red or green so you know if there is still dirt that it is picking up, or if you can move onto a new spot to vacuum. It works really well, and it's super easy to empty out the container without making a mess in your house. The three pieces in the picture lock together in any order so you can have 4 different ways of suctioning. Take a minute to visualize all 4 combinations that still involve the suctioning part. It also comes with lots of little attachments that are standard with any vacuum. Long hair 100% still gets wrapped around the roller at the bottom, but because it has the silicon fins instead of little brushes, the hair is spaced out from the solid part of the roller and it is extremely easy to cut off. My wife wanted a cordless vacuum, but she likes this one better because the cord gives it a ton more suction power. ... show more

Easy to assemble, fairly light but not significantly lighter than our old Shark Rocket. The suction for both carpet and hard floors is great. Takes dog hair up from hardwood floors very well. Works great on carpet also. My only gripes are the foot lever to disconnect the suction head is not clear on what it actually does. I assumed unlock the head to allow tilt but it unhooks the head from the main tube. Not sure why this functionality exists. The Shark rocket had a button which worked perfectly. Second gripe is the canister removal and emptying. Removing the canister is easy enough but opening the canister to empty the dirt is not easy at all. Small black button when pushed does nothing until you pull to try to open the hinged canister. Not intuitive and a bad design in my opinion. As a vacuum it works great but knocked down a star for the odd designs on the head disconnection and terrible canister design. Pretty expensive too. I should have just gotten another lower end model and saved $75 or so. ... show more

What I like most about the vacuum cleaner is that you can switch from hard surfaces to carpet/rug with the touch of a switch. This is a powerful, lightweight vacuum cleaner that does a good job of cleaning. I bought it so I can quickly vacuum the kitchen floor, family room floor and area rug, and hallways in between more thorough cleaning with my more powerful canister vacuum cleaner. The dust cup is easy to remove and empty into a trash can which I could not do with my previous shark rocket. There are 3 things I don't like: the dust cup is very small and requires frequent emptying because of its size; the vacuum is not free standing when not in use so must either be leaned against a wall etc. or laid on the floor; the flexible hose in the base of the machine (floor nozzle) is a weak point. I had to toss my previous Shark because it split and that was the only thing that was wrong with that machine. I was very reluctant to purchase another Shark product because of this and because it has odd sized 'screws' holding the floor nozzle together, so that it cannot be removed by the consumer. I do not want a cordless machine and until someone makes a cordless machine that actually has a decent run time, I will not buy one. Overall, I am very happy with the machine. One note of caution: I purchased this machine at a great price, at least so I thought. I NEVER purchase extended warranties except for major appliances. Somehow, I don't know how, but I was charged for a 5 year warranty which I did not authorize so it was sneakily added on. When I read the warranty limitations, it is doubtful that if the machine fails, the manufacturer will honor the warranty because it's basically for manufacturing defects and not wear/tear of the vacuum cleaner. I was charged $40.96 for a warranty. I looked at Amazon's warranty and it seems their warranty is only for 3 years maximum. I believe Shark added the warranty because I believe I purchased from the Shark store.......so buyer beware. ... show more

I bought this vacuum and i am very happy with it. It has strong suction. it has amazing rolls on the bottom, can be takin apart into a few pieces. easy to empty and to handle. It has a long wire. itsts lightweight and my kids can easily do the vaccuuming and easily bring up steps

I am absolutely shocked at how awesome this little vac is. Lightweight Easy to use Long cord Pivoting head, and it works very well A nifty little feature in the head that somehow spins hair or string neatly around a mesh cone, which makes it easy to remove. LOVE this feature Plenty of suction power Great on hard floors, and SUPER easy to switch back and forth between carpet and hard floor The detachable head is easy to use on furniture and stairs The only negative, and for me it is a small negative is the way it stores. The head is heavier than the base, so it doesnt store well attached. You have to remove the head and hang it on an included catch designed for this. Slightly awkward, but not enough to take off a star. I still HIGHLY recommend this vac. ... show more
