    • Great vacuum....pisses off my princess of a cat
Our last robotic vacuum was getting lost and confused on a regular basis....dementia had set in in its old age. It was time to find a new Skynet to help reduce the volume of fur clouds in our house. After watching a ridiculous amount of YouTube videos on vacuums, we settled on the Shark Detect Pro Self-Empty Robot Vacuum with the 30 day capacity. It was very easy to set up and get on our wifi. Mapping the house took very little time, though I did make sure to have everything picked up and out of the way and all the doors open, even in rooms that are typically kept shut. I love the fact that I can start our new Skynet for anywhere....which has some additional pluses if wish to scared the cr@p out of your housesitter while you are gone. I love that I can send it to clean just specific places that get additional traffic and need a bit more attention. Now, this won't eliminate the need to run a regular vacuum on occasion, but it significantly reduces the frequency that I am running the regular vacuum. We have way too may animals that I have rescued through the years, 4 cats and 2 dogs and live out in the sticks. Dust, dirt, potentially a lizard, leaves and grass are tracked into the house daily. Skynet is smart enough to not try to suck up the small, unalived things the cat has brought in, but has done a fabulous job with the rest. The princess of a cat has taken a massive dislike to this vacuum and will stalk it and hiss at it. Thankfully, yet again, Skynet is smart enough to not suck up the hissing spitfire, though I could understand why it might want to. My only complaint would be the 30 day capacity in the dust bin. I am not sure in whose reality that bin is large enough for 30 days, but I was not expecting it to be realistic in our house. I dump the bin at least every other day, just to be proactive....and one of the dogs is a husky, so you know, fluff is at an unparalleled level of hair distribution. Overall, I am very happy with our Shark vacuum and would highly recommend it! ... show more

    • Great Vacuum at a Great Price
This robot shark detect pro vacuum is great. The mapping and app are easy to use and set up. Scheduling is a breeze, and most importantly, the vacuum does its job cleaning very well. My floors have never been cleaner. The LIDAR mapping is really nice as it allows the vacuum to avoid bumping into furniture and walls, and get a very accurate floor mapping. And as advertised, the vacuum does indeed not get stuck. It is able to detect and avoid cords and other wires, so you don't have to worry about those either. There are a few features I would like to see on the app, such as the ability to schedule individual rooms to clean. However there is always the chance those are added in the future. I hope to see a lot more of this kind of stuff from Shark in the future, I think they have a really great product right now that is very underrated. ... show more

    • Software needs updating
Works good but it’s difficult to assign rooms in the app. It does part of a room goes to another then goes back to the first room. Confused little fellow.

    • Great robot vacuum
Never owned one before. We have 4 golden retrievers. Lots of hair. We use our whole house vacuum for all cleaning. We wanted to try this Shark to see if we ran it every night would it extend time between major vacuum cleanings. We have hardwood throughout house with oriental throw rugs in rooms and halls. Week 1……after setting it up which was extremely easy, we used the timed cleaning. Set it out at night. It picked up a ton of dog hair!! It didn’t clog, but we found we had to empty the bin each morning. We also had to cut the hairs from the roller bar. However, after the third night, floors and carpets still looked clean, the bin was still collecting hair and now the roller bar no longer required cleaning! We were so impressed after 1 week of use we bought a second one and placed it upstairs for the second floor!!! It picks up small dirt and debris you can’t even see! Only 2 gripes I have….1) it does take the battery a long time to charge, but only on the initial setup. It’s never an issue as we can run the robots through our 300 square foot home and not recharge them at all! 2) the app is a little clunky. Not easy to find settings and some other items. The one I can never find it “cleaning power”….you can set it to low, normal and maximum (hi)……and we set the first one on high (we don’t remember how) and now want to set the second on “high” and can’t figure out how to do it. We searched the online manual, online support and found where it states it have these three settings…but doesn’t tell you how to change them!! We will call them tomorrow and see if they can tell us……other than that, they are incredible. They absolutely never get stuck, they devour the hair and we are so glad we got them. We havent had to use the whole house vac now in a month!! Wow! Excellent product. ... show more

    • Battery life too low and charging time too long
I used the vacuum for about a month. I like it because I run the vacuum and night and it navigated and cleaned well, but it would only run for a little over an hour and then would take 5 hours to recharge before it would resume. I want to run at night so that I don't have it running around while I am working in the house. If I scheduled to start at midnight so I am asleep when it started, it would still be cleaning at 7am when I got up because of low battery life and very long charging time. Otherwise, it navigated well. Obstacle avoidance was not very good and the navigation app is very simplistic. It only lets you make one map though, so it will not remember different floors of my house. I wanted to keep it since it is US made, but couldn't get past the poor battery/charging issue. I am using a Roomba J8+ from Costco now. It works great except I have to leave a couple of lights on for it to run at night. ... show more
