We have a 4 year old Husky named Lady Luna. She sheds whenever she moves. Twice a year she blows her coat and dog hair is everywhere. We have an older model Kirby that is still working very well for the dog hair but it is so, so heavy. We have an A-I Shark Robot for our hardwood floors that is very good and we own own a Shark Rotator model that worked on our dog hair problem fairly well. However, we just purchased a re-conditioned Shark Stratos. It is truly an excellent vacuum cleaner for removing our Husky hair from carpeting, shag rugs, low pile carpet and thick carpeting. The attachments are excellent for furniture, cracks, crevices and my car ! I strongly recommend the Shark Stratos. Note: You can get it on a trial basis in case you are not satisfied. ... show more

    • So many features - and so much suck!
OTHER than being a little heavy, this sucker is a sucker! Love that it has a huge fill bucket, and nearly all pieces break away for specialized tasks (furniture, stairs, cobwebs on the ceiling). The roller and fin bar help to pick up crud from 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a messy parrot.

My husband was hesitant about buying refurbished, but my early review is this: Everything was well packaged; additional components and instructions were included; the machine was spotlessly clean; it functions as expected and seems to perform well. There were a couple of very minimal light scratches on the handle. This should not be enough reason to dissuade anyone from buying refurbished when the machine will eventually bear marks if it's continued use anyway. The refurbished version is $200 less than brand new. The precious Stratos AZ3000 is $100 more than refurbished at Walmart. So far, my decision to buy refurbished has been a good one. It is a bit heavy and with the swivel feature, it may be cumbersome for those who don't have great strength in their hands. Switching for low or high pile helps ease the "push" needed. I haven't used the attachments yet to be able to say how well they work; my primary use is for vacuuming floors anyway. It works great on hard wood as well. ... show more

    • Its a great vacuum.. when it works..
I ordered this vacuum a month ago, and it worked great. I had a previous Shark that lasted forever as well, and was happy when this one arrived. It worked great, awesome suction, I had pet hair flying to it. Less then a month later however, it just stopped working. It just wouldnt power on. Amazon is sending me a replacement, and I am hoping that one lasts. This isnt the quality I has expected taking a chance on a refurbished one. In the future, I will stay with the new.. ... show more

    • Holy crap at the cat hair!
Got this cause my 10 yr old vacuum is dead… the brush has rubber fins and they remove hair … I thought my carpets were clean, but this vac found so much hair, human and animal. The suction on this one is no joke. Tempted to buy a few more and put away.

This thing will suck the eyes out of a parrot at 15 yards, but I'm not sure where they put the Buick V6. "Renewed" was brand new out of the box, not a single scratch on it nor mote of dust in it. Immediately ran it behind my old heavy Kirby, and it picked up enough dust and dirt to fill the container 3 times. The Kirby was no slouch, but this clearly has some powerfully angry suction demons inside it. We have 3 dogs, all 3 blow coats twice a year, we are heavily into the first coat blow of the year and the brush ended up just as free of hair as it was when it started. Very impressive!
