  • Seems to be a great fridge/freezer for the money
Size: PT45(48 Quart) With AC Adapter
Bought the PT45 to use in the back of my truck when I go camping. I have a LiFePo4 100Ah battery (Dr. Prepare PowerMax) with a 100w solar panel. The weather hasn't cooperated yet to actually hit the wilderness with the cooler yet, but I have tested it quite a bit at my house. I'm amazed at how fast it cools down even on eco mode. I set the small side to 5 degrees F and put a bottle of water in it. After only about 2 hours I took the bottle out and opened it. And it did that thing where the fluid starts turning to ice after the cap is cracked. Amazing. I ran the cooler for 3 days off my LiFePo4 battery and the battery still had juice left. That was with the small side set to 5 degrees and the large side set to 38. I'm hoping with the minimal power consumption of this fridge that my 100w panel will be able to provide enough recharge capability so that I can run the cooler for much longer periods. The unit has some weight, but is not difficult to lift in and out of the back of my truck. The compressor is very quiet, but you can hear when it is running. Definitely not what I would consider loud at all. The handles are plastic but feel pretty solid. The lids both latch nicely when closed. The LED lights on the inside are very nice too. I can't speak to durability in the wild since I haven't made the maiden voyage with it. But first impressions are very positive. As with some other users, I don't know how accurate it maintains temperature to the set temp. But honestly, if the freezer side freezes and the refrigerator side cools down to around 40, it's really not an issue for me. I really don't care that if I set the temp to 38 that it's actually running at 40. The food won't know the difference. If it's within a few degrees, for this price point I'm OK with that. ... show more

  • Dependable freezer & fridge
Size: PT35(37 Quart) With AC Adapter
Best travel fridge & freezer on the market. PT35 Qt. I just retired. My brother Andrew F. purchased a different brand about 2x capacity. Too big for me. This is a little larger than my regular travel cooler (which we have to buy ice for or refreeze gallon jugs.) I tested this 24/7 for 2 months before my wife & I took our 25th-anniversary trip across the USA, from CA to PA & back. Worked flawlessly & almost indestructible, Takes only 45 min. to achieve freezer & fridge temps. Freezer is colder than my home freezer: WOW! We started our trip using the large area to freeze and brought our favorite frozen foods. As they lessened, we changed the large area to fridge, and the smaller area to freezer. Such versatility and durability! I can stand on it, and stack any heavy crates also on it. I can't speak highly enough of it. It used only about 50 watts from Van cig. lighter. and still had plenty of watts (150 total) to run all other devices with plenty to spare. When we moteled for one nights, we left everything in the van, and it kept it both frozen and cold for the fridge. Longer stays, we carried it into house AC power. Only one time did we thaw and clean it just to make sure no bacteria in it (while placing items in another fridge/freezer.). I copied the 2 most important parts of the manual onto photo paper and placed them inside a gallon ziplock and keep inside left smaller compartment. Also, remember how to change Celcius to Fahrenheit. (Press both the Right compartment SET button & the Down arrow, just above it at the same time to toggle between C & F. We also use this for extra space when we have social functions. I (61 yr male) can lift it fully loaded, but would recommend 2 persons. Easy to lift when empty, around 40 lbs by myself. • 37 quart camping freezer/fridge, impressive performance, compressor warranty, $269 Price Point.
Size: PT35(37 Quart) With AC Adapter
Initial purchase, first test run Review. I currently have a 35 quart ICE filled cooler that is sufficient to store enough food (drinks stored in a different cooler) ICE, for 4 people on a 4 day camping trip. I chose the 37 quart unit with two compartments Freezer/Fridge with separate doors, runs on a 12 volt cigarette lighter plug DC cord (included), with an optional AC household electricity adapter. SetPower brand is a subdivision of parent company ICECO that makes highly rated portable fridges comparable to the expensive brands. SetPower has a 3 year compressor warranty, my understanding this is the failure point for 12 volt fridges. Most other brands offer 1 year warranty with their compressors. On the first test run, it cools down fast in the max power settings. I used a Bluetti EB3A to check power consumption; a) Max cool down setting uses 38-42 watts for the first15-20 minutes, then it stabilized to 29 watts once the temperature setting is reached. b) With the minimum power setting it uses less watts, it fluctuates 22-29 watts. I noticed that both compartments are not necessarily being cooled by the compressor at the same time, it may explain the power usage fluctuations, a good thing. Like most fridges, the compressor runs intermittently to maintain temp settings, so battery power is NOT always drawn. I tested the temp settings with a basic dial thermostat, results are within 3-5 degrees difference. To be safe, adjust the settings to a lower number accordingly. Pre-cool the fridge with AC household electricity power first, then use battery DC power source on your way. There are multiple ways to power the fridge in your automobile and at the campsite. 1) Cigarette lighter plug (included), car battery limitations. 2) Bluetti, Jackery etc. power station. 3) External deep cycle Battery, LifePO4, Lithium, etc. with a $20 dollar cigarette plug adapter. Battery power usage differs depending on the weather temperatures, sun exposure, contents and how many times fridge doors are opened etc. I estimate the Bluetti EB3A should power the fridge for a good 12 hours. The Dr. Prepare 12v 100Ah LifePO4 deep cycle battery should be good for 3-4 consecutive days. The car battery/cigarette plug will be used as last resort and only with the engine is on or while driving. I do have a 220 watt portable solar panel system capable of charging either EB3A and the LifePO4 battery well under 2.5 hours in good sunshine. ... show more
