I like the system, but my 105 lb wife keeps telling me that we should have got one with wheels. I did pick up a small folding luggage cart that we keep in the car to haul it. It works great otherwise, but I recommend paying for wheels if you have a smaller member of the family. We've used this on quite a few arizona camping trips now. We typically power it with a jackery power station, 12v cig. Socket in our hybrid or a standard wall receptacle. It has performed well for us so far. Thumbs up

Edit: been using this fridge for about a month striaght to keep drinks cold at the house as well as car duty as needed. Still going strong. I recently took an AJ40 and a Jackery 300 power bank on a week long road/camping trip, and I am pleased with how this fridge performed. First I want to mention that I found a warehouse deal on this fridge for around a hundred less than the going price, and it arrived in like new condition. I think this fridge is fairly priced at full going rate, but if you can find a warehouse deal jump on it. To the pros: Good temp control. In max mode it will only vary a degree or two up or down. In eco mode it allows bigger swings, 5 degrees or so, but that is needed to save power. Sturdy build. The hinges, case, handles, etc all feel well built. There isn't any noticable flex when you are carrying it by the handles. The handles do rattle a bit, but I never noticed any annoying noises in the car. Seems to be pretty efficient. I don't have much to compare it to, but I would get 16-18 hours from my Jackery 300 (fridge in eco set to 32F packed with cold food and drinks with daytime temps in the low 90s and overnight temps in the low 70s). Great insulation. I accidentally left the fridge unpowered overnight (plug issue, see cons), and the temp only rose about 5 degrees. Cons: My only real complaint is with the 12v plug. First the red cap popped off, which seems to be some sort of adapter to allow it to work with a smaller socket. Since that happened the cap doesn't want to fit as tightly, and the plug has problems making contact. I have to push and rotate the plug to make sure it stays connected. I will be sourcing a new connector with better build quality and a dedicated US style 12v connection. The AC adapter is rather clunky. I'd rather have it connect straight to the side of the fridge where the 12v cable connects. Instead you have to connect the 12v cable to the AC adapter. There are a lot of unnecessary connections, which creates more points for failure. ... show more

Purchased for a 5000 mile summer roadtrip to negate the hassle of melting ice packs, or worrying about hotel freezer/fridge not re-freezing or keeping things cold. Oddly enough, this unit is quieter than those hotel fridges. While checking out the touristy bits of San Antonio in 95+ degree weather. This item only "lost" 10 degrees in 4 hours. Given during this time the unit was NOT running while the vehicle was parked in the cloudless sky. We knew how hot the interior was once we got back to it. We are highly impressed with the functionality of this freezer/fridge. And have used it to transport individual ice cream sammiches/popsicles/etc on more than one occassion at a function without fear of those items melting during transport. Highly recommend for the price. One item I did modify was the handles. They spin freely and can rattle while going down the road. I took some toolbox shelf liner. Cut them into short strips and wrapped them around the end before mounting them into their respective holders. The handles still rotate slightly, but no longer rattle. ... show more

Really happy with this little fridge. My last 12V fridge from Edgestar lasted over 10 years and was built like a tank. The compressor gave out. This fridge is the same internal size as my old one, but the overall unit size is much smaller and more efficient. It seems to be a direct copy of Dometic and other larger brands but at a much better price. I am not one to pay for a name with accessories like this when the internal components are essentially the same. I ran a fused set of wires from my battery and into the back seat of my truck and strapped the fridge down with the handles. This thing is efficient and quiet. Would purchase again. ... show more
