Like the camera, it's perfect for what I needed. I use it indoors and only plug it in to a usb or the solar panel once a month for a few hours. It watches and forwards any movement to my phone via app that is included. Works very well. I have professional cameras that don't work as well as this one. The only problem I had is I bought 2 and after about 2 weeks one of them stopped working. Couldn't gain access via the app. Tried to reboot and reset to no avail. Haven't tried to send it back, never have good luck doing that, so I'll probably just take the hit. I'm very happy with the other one though. ... show more

Had a few hiccups along the way mostly due to shoddy internet service (which most recently I've changed services). Now the camera is working amazingly. Night vision is clear and the spotlights (that can also be activated on the phone app) are extremely bright. The alarm when tested is loud but not deafening so neighbors can hear it but its softer than a car alarm or a car horn. The app is pretty easy to use though there is a bit of a learning curve as you're navigating it for the first time. Sometimes I have a problem remembering where the motion detection options are (Hint: it's under alarm management). The two other gripes I have about the app is that the capabilities to sense other objects other than people are behind a paywall and the alert history option. The ability for the camera to sense objects like cars, dogs/cats, and packages are behind a paywall which is unfortunate but understandable for the company to continue to make a profit off of a well made camera. The options include (as of 7/2/2023) Continuous Monthly $1.99, One Month only $2.99, and One Year $39.99. These options are really not too expensive considering Amazon Ring basic plan goes for $3.99 a month. So this is really a small complaint in all honesty. That is to say the company could in fact raise the prices in the future but for now its decent. Now it does have premium cloud storage capability, again through a paywall starting at (as of 7/2/2023) $3.99 Continuous Monthly, $4.99 for One Month, and $29.99 for a year. So to have access to both the cloud and the extra options I believe you have to pay for them separately but again I haven't really explored this option yet since I utilize a memory card to store my videos. Should I utilize either of these plans I will try to update my review. **Note: There is an option for free cloud storage that holds 6 second videos for 7 days. The other issue is the alert history option. Again this is a small gripe but when I go into the app to check the alerts it replays all the alerts from the beginning every time. Yes, you can select the time in which you wish to see, however it would be nice to have it automatically start with the most recent and immediate alert for obvious reasons (i.e. why would i want to see a dog walker at the beginning of the day when a person is acting suspiciously around my house at 10 pm?). Installation was pretty simple but because of the siding I had to purchase longer screws to secure both the camera and the solar panel. Ended up purchasing 2 1/2" #8 phillip screws to secure it properly to the side of my house. The camera comes with 1" #8 phillip screws. The solar panel works very well and I've had no issues with the battery as of yet despite rain and heat. Curious to see how it will preform in the winter with the snow and cold. Despite my little gripes it's a really good camera and I think I will probably purchase another in the future and possibly a doorbell camera as well. 5 out of 5 would recommend and purchase again. ... show more

After extensive research for an outdoor solar powered security camera, I decided to order the ieGeek PTZ surveillance camera and I am very pleased and satisfied with my choice. My decision was based not only on the many features the camera offered, but also the numerous positive reviews for this product. Also, I needed a black colored camera as a white camera, which seems to be the prevalent color, would be very obtrusive and would definitely not match the décor of our house. As many reviewers already noted, the camera’s build quality is very solid and has a quality feel to it. The 1080p HD video is excellent, both in live view and playback. Night vision is also very good, albeit in B&W. The quality of the videos exceeded my expectations. I like the fact the camera can be panned remotely from your phone which allows a full panoramic view of our driveway and property. The voice intercom is an added feature and works very well. Although the camera has been mounted for over a week, battery life is still around 97% despite the fact we have not experienced much sunshine during this time. I opted out of subscribing to Cloud storage and simply use a micro SD card (not included) to view and store videos. The SD card works very well and saves you the cost of a monthly fee. Overall, the CloudEdge APP software package that must be downloaded for the camera is at best tolerable, as it takes a bit of practice to proficiently navigate its many features. Also, it gets a little quirky as occasionally the App will freeze during playback, requiring you to turn off your phone and restart it again to reactivate the App. Moreover, it oftentimes triggers false alarms, which can be very annoying, while at other times it fails to record movement. Despite “tweaking” the motion detector per the user manual suggestions, we still encounter the same problems. Finally, when accessing an alert from the recorded history, the App triggers an instantaneous new alert when there is obviously no motion detected. Rather than detailing the drawbacks and glitches that I, as well as others, experienced with this App - which is beyond the scope of this review - I suggest reading the various reviews that can be found on the internet regarding the CloudEdge App to get a better understanding of its intricacies and problems. Hopefully, CloudEdge can address and remedy these issues in a future update. Installation of both the software and the camera itself is easy, although I would like to have seen a better written and more detailed user manual. Nonetheless, if you’re somewhat technically literate you can figure things out. I did need to reach out to customer service via email regarding several issues and they responded within 24 hours and were very helpful. Despite the shortfalls with the CloudEdge App, I recommend this camera based on the excellent quality of the product, superb video detail and the many features included with the camera. As much as I would like to give this camera a 5 star rating, I’m compelled to give it 4 stars based on the ongoing issues with the CloudEdge APP. ... show more

I bought two of these cameras and use them for security at our house. So far they work great. Battery life seems to be amazing so far. Set up can be challenging if you are not slightly technical.
