  • great frother but not warm enough.
Size: 16.9oz Color: Stainless Steel
I am giving this a 4 instead of 5 star because it does not heat up the milk sufficiently. The description states, this is a milk warmer so the milk will not be HOT. Even when ran a second time it does not go above a certain temperature. Great product otherwise.

  • The Essential I Didn't Know I Needed
Size: 16.9oz Color: Stainless Steel
I worried this purchase was a bit extravagant and it might be an appliance that would end up stuffed in a cabinet and eventually given away. NOPE. It has earned a permanent valuable real estate spot in my kitchen. I don't use this for the froth. I use it to blend and heat. In the mornings I drink a couple of cups of matcha tea, which needs to be blended well. I put in some water, the matcha and a little Natural Bliss Almond Creamer (probably not the healthiest addition, but I am addicted) and then push the button once to blend and heat. The frother comes with two pieces for blending. The wire one froths. The black one blends. I found the wire brother added so much froth to my drink that it would sometimes overflow, but the black one blends perfectly and frankly, I wasn't interested in a lot of froth. My drink comes out creamy and light, well blended and heated to a perfect temperature for me. Not scalding hot. Ready to drink right away. It makes enough for two cups. When I go back for my second, I push the button again and let it blend and heat again. I go through the same thing to make Crio Bru lattes, Chai tea, herbal tea lattes and more. I often add spices to the mix as well. My drink station has this frother, an electric kettle, and a french press. The drinks I make are so much more fun now. Seriously, I make about 6 hot drinks a day. Also of note, cleanup is super easy. ... show more

  • Milk sticks to the bottom
Size: 16.9oz Color: Stainless Steel
Mixed pretty good. Milk is thicker at the top may need a little blending after first pour.

  • So much fun
Size: 8.4oz Color: Stainless Steel
Agree with previous reviews - be careful not to overfill, or you will have froth all over your counter. My husband says it's great - he pours it in his coffee and it's like having a piece of styrofoam on it to keep it warm. I think styrofoam is illegal in California? lol. Seriously, it works fast and couldn't be easier. Push the button, and a beautiful froth forms in just a minute or two. I drizzle a bit of maple syrup or caramel , even a 1/2 tsp of chocolate powder in it while it's running when I want a special treat. The little brush is to clean the spring, as the milk does tend to form a coating on the surfaces. But, it only takes a wipe with a damp soapy cloth, really. Does not take up too much space on my counter. We are going to get a lot of use from this gadget! Really recommend. ... show more

  • Doesn’t last long
Size: 8.4oz Color: Stainless Steel
Bought frother 15 months ago. Went to use it and milk started leaking out of the bottom. Cleaned and dried but now won’t even go on. Took very good care and only used as directed. I did use every day but for only 1 cup. Very disappointed it didn’t last. My daughter has a Nespresso that she bought before me and it’s still working. I guess I was penny wise and pound foolish. This unit was less expensive but now I have to get another one. Looking for another make. ... show more

  • Works well
Size: 16.9oz Color: Stainless Steel
I originally ordered the Instant frother but after 3 defective ones (though I still really liked that one), I decided to try the Secura because of the great reviews. Essentially plug & play, measurements are clearly marked in the inside, comes with a cleaning brush & 2 different paddles: one for heating only & one for frothing, easy to clean, and well-made. This one is the larger model, which will produce a little more than a pint of warm milk in just a couple minutes.. it’s very quiet & shuts off by itself. I love warm milk, trying to jettison the microwave and tend to burn milk on the stove. Even if it only lasts a couple years, $45 is not a bad price to pay. ... show more

  • Good value.
Size: 8.4oz Color: Stainless Steel
This review is for the 250 ml Secura Automatic Electric Milk Frother and Warmer. I like an espresso macchiato, and an occasional latte. I decided to try an automatic frother for a few reasons. First, I’m the only coffee drinker in my household, so I only need a very small amount of milk. It is very difficult to steam a very small amount of milk, So using the steam wand on my espresso machine is somewhat wasteful. Second, my espresso machine is a single boiler type. So I cannot quickly transition between pulling a shot and steaming milk. I figured I can froth milk with an automatic frother at the same time as pulling a shot, saving time. Finally, cleanup after steaming is sometimes a PITA, though only if I’m careless and splash, or if I don’t wipe the wand right away. I have experience with one other automatic frother, a Nesp-----o (original version) that a coworker has. I have used his a few times. But that one costs more than twice what the Secura cost. As far as my goals, this frother hit them all. I can froth as little as 100 ml (measured prior to frothing). So there is still some waste when making a macchiato, but much less than when steaming. If I start the frother just before tamping my grounds, it finishes shortly after pulling the shot. And cleanup is easy. Immediately after using it I rinse it in warm water. There is a film of cooked/burnt milk on the bottom that is easily wiped away with a paper towel. Another quick rinse and I’m done. And I like that it has a handle and a pour spout. The negatives: Very minor point: as I said, cleanup is easy. But I don’t recall my coworker’s frother forming that film on the bottom. Maybe his heats more evenly or slowly. The lid does not seal in the area around the spout. So if you fill it to near the limit (250ml for hot froth) you will get leakage out that location onto the base and your counter. This would be a problem but for the fact that I won’t normally froth more than the minimum. So that spout that I like comes at a cost. And this would be a better product without it. Finally, and most importantly, the froth is not super awesome. I generally get a layer of foam floating on a bed of hot milk. That foam is somewhere between the dry foam you’d want for cappuccino, and the wet micro-foam wanted for a latte or macchiato. So nowhere near as nice as what you can do with a good steam wand. I think my coworker’s frother does a better job – though it also is not as good as a steam wand. I see in other reviews advice to try different brands/grades of milk. That may be good advice. But I’ll not be bothered. It also seems to do somewhat better when filled near it’s max (250ml) than where I use it at about 100ml. But even then it is not great, and there’s the leakage issue. In summary, I find this frother to be worth what I paid for it. When I use it I’m sacrificing quality for convenience. If entertaining, I’ll steam the milk. But when it’s just me wanting a quick macchiato, this frother will do. ... show more
