I purchased one of these (5-step with railing) for my daughter at her home and another (5-step with railing) for my wife and I at our house. Far easier than a traditional ladder to stand on when doing work (painting, installing a ceiling fan, etc) for any amount of time. Easy to assemble and use. Folding is easy with the top step hand latch. Stores in the same space as a traditional folding ladder - but easier to move around. Our primary usage of these is indoors. This is a very nicely-designed and sturdy step ladder. The materials are solid, with the frame made entirely of steel and the steps made of composite. The handles hand a nice rubbery sleeve on them that makes gripping easy and secure. Even with the guards on, it still folds to a pretty slim size and is easy to transport and store. One thing I would note to any buyers, when discarding the packaging materials be careful with the removable insulation on the handles and top, the soft grip-able padding beneath will cut easily, so using a knife can be risky. One of my neighbors "borrowed" my aluminum step-ladder and I have been without one for a long time, forcing me to borrow one from my building's janitor when I need one. I decided to treat myself and see what was available on Amazon. I cannot praise too highly the HB Tower step stool/ladder. It is far safer and secure with its wide steps, slip proof treads, the metal extension at the top which provides more support when on the highest step, the tool tray, the fashionable black color, its narrow profile when folded. At my age, I probably shouldn't be on a ladder at all, but no older handy man or woman should be without the HB Tower. Glad I didn't go the aluminum ladder route. This is the way to go. ... show more

The ladder is very sturdy and made of substantial materials. It is also compact and easy to store. I removed one star because the support for the top step is literally just an un-reinforced cut out in the plastic (which enables the top step to rest on the metal frame). Other step-ladders "snap" into position and are reinforced so that the plastic will not wear and become loose (and wobbly) over time. We won't use this very often, and you aren't very high off the ground, so I suspect it will work and last for our purposes. But it doesn't feel as secure as other ladders. TBH, the ladder is so well done in every other way! This must be just a design flaw or oversight. ... show more

Im so pleased with this ladder, not one complaint !! Great price . It arrived on time and was well packaged . It is a solid well built ladder, No wobbling. Up high painting the ceiling and nice and sturdy outside trimming bushes in the yard . Im 62 ...and i can tell you the padded handrails make all the difference.
