I have had mechanical wine openers before and found them to be more annoying and more time consuming than just using a traditional corkscrew. NOT the case w/this one. So.... 1. display: the charger station is small enough in size that it would fit in most any location w/o taking up too much space. For those that do not like clutter or one more "gadget" to sit out, this is a good size. The charging station has a little holder for the foil cutter as well which is great and keeps all parts together so no one has to search drawers when ready to open the bottle. There is a blue light that glows while being charged and is very pleasant to look actually and is a nice touch. so it actually looks really good sitting on top of the wine rack. Mine happens to be right next to an electrical plug on the wall so does not reveal the hanging cords or wires. 2. function: works great so far and have opened quite a few bottles. very easy to use. would suggest holding the bottle by the fatter part toward the middle and then using the other hand to work the corkscrew. does not work well if the bottle sits on the counter unless you have a good solid grip on the base. Its actually easier to just pick up the bottle and do it that way. of course that's after using the foil cutter which gives a perfect cut and removal each and every time. 3. battery life: i think the product says it can be used for 30 bottle openings during a single charge. that is quite more wine that most people would be going through in an evening so i don't think anyone would have an issue w/keeping a charge. I use it and then put directly back on the charging station as i do my mechanical salt and pepper grinders. that way, its always on the cradle and charging. as mentioned there is a blue light that glows in the actual item while its charging and i like the way it looks so would have no reason to keep it off the charger anyway. this also makes a GREAT gift especially a house warming gift to anyone who drinks wine or entertains ... show more

I’m not old but at 64 with carpal tunnel the essential movements of losing the ability to grip (hold the wine bottle or cork screw), squeeze (cork screw) and pull (out the cork) is not always easy. I’m now assisted with the great tool. No more cork pieces in the wine, struggling to remove the cork. And moreover I now have a great grift idea for my wine drinking friends. Takes up very little room on the counter. The blue charging light is a nice touch with good battery life.. Opener is strong, handling a variety of corks easily. The foil cutter is very sharp, not a lot of back and forth needed. I am very pleased with my purchase.

I have had one of these for about four years. I really like it as a wine opener. It has two flaws though. 1. The battery doesn’t last forever and is not replaceable. So when it stops taking enough charge to be useful, you have to throw the whole thing away rather than just being able to change the battery. Even worse, there isn’t a way to remove the battery for disposal, so the whole device becomes e-waste which is difficult and inconvenient to legally dispose of. They could have made it possible to replace the battery and the environmental impact would be much lower. I hate having to throw away a perfectly good device when all it needs is a battery. 2. Like all corkscrew devices, I don’t recommend you use this on older bottles of wine. Definitely don’t use it on anything ten years or older. If the cork breaks during the process of trying to remove it, part of the cork can become trapped up above the plastic “shield” and there is no way to remove it (I spent hours trying.) The device may still be usable but it is a little inelegant with half a cork stuck inside it. Do yourself a favor and use a non-corkscrew opener with older bottles which may have fragile corks. I do like the product otherwise, and I’m going to reluctantly order another to replace mine; I got almost five years out of it. But I really hate that I can’t just replace the battery, it seems to wasteful. ... show more

Packaged well. Came on time. LED light came on immediately after plug in. After 8 hours of charging, opened the wine bottle easily. Don't know about the battery yet. My experience with rechargeable wine openers is that the battery fails pretty easily. I have had some last 3 years and others fail with in the first year. I am hoping this brand will last longer than a couple of years. I have not used this brand before. ... show more

I was over a friend's house for New Years and she was opening wine bottles with an electric wine opener, if not this brand then a similar one. First of all I didn't know these existed, second of all my fave colour is blue so when I saw that blue light come on, it was a bonus to wanting one. So as soon as I got home I ordered one for myself and then I order more for my friends as their christmas presents the following year. It's very straight forward to use and I liked that it comes with a foil opener. Overall this wine opener has made opening wine so much easier and saves me the embarrassment of how weak I am with a regular opener haha. ... show more
