We have a Yamaha AR190. The rear cleat sits about a foot above the waterline. So traditional fenders are basically worthless at a dock. These are doing the job so far. Our marina slip is a tight fit for the stern. With these fenders attached to the rear cleats, it literally wedges the boat into the slip where the stern can't move. The jury is out on whether that's a good thing. I'll definitely need to remove them before I move the boat into or out of the slip. But that's my situation's quirk. You want to know how well they'll work for you. It's only my first week with them, but so far I'm happy they're doing the job I wanted them to do. With the low stern cleats, I needed something that would cinch tight and be a buffer between a dock that is at or above the level of the cleat. These seem to be doing the trick. They're not hard to deploy. Hopefully they'll hold up and the constant rub isn't wearing away at the gel coat. I'm going to be out of the boat this weekend. I'll have a chance to see what several days of being wedged in to my slip has done to my gel coat. I'll update this review if I find anything negative to say about them. ... show more

These appear to be very durable and easy to use. The foam is a nice dense material that is non-marking and is a nice appealing color with an affective shape. The adjustability of the push button tensioner makes it quick and easy for your inexperienced dock helpers and still leaves space on the cleats for dock lines. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is they tend to not stay in place when there is room for them to move around or if the boat is rocking; if this is something that is critical to your application I would look for some with suction cups. ... show more

If you ever dock your boat on pilings, you know it's almost impossible to get your round bumpers to stay in place. These things are perfect. Just slip it over the top of the dock piling and they stay in place. No rolling around. A real boating game changer.

After 1 use I'm impressed, and am loving this purchase. My smaller Yamaha AR195 site low to the water. I originally purchase a more traditional black bumper, but found in some situations that would actually catch under the lip of a dock. We couldn't get them high enough onto the cleat to e effective. This new style offers the attachment point a little below the top of the bumper, therefore allowing it rest slightly above the cleat. Not to mention, when we have visitors on the boat, they're more easily able to help put the bumpers on and off, without conflating a crazy version of wrapping and figuring eight-ing the rope around the cleat (as newbies are never sure how to secure). ... show more
