This is very handy to keep on my small sailboat for the rare times I get totally becalmed. It extends long enough to paddle from a comfortable position in the boat. A nice long combination paddle and boat hook. Let’s me get rid of the two item combination it is replacing. Appears to be sturdy and well designed. Water ski season is over, so we’ll find out if it works as promised next summer. From the looks of it, there should no problem.

This paddle supposedly extends by twisting three separate pieces, extending those pieces and retwisting them together to lock them. I am 6'1" and 250 lbs and I could not separate the sections until I put gloves on and twisted with all my might. Then one of the sections totally came apart and would not go back together. I bought this paddle 3 weeks ago and it broke yesterday while preparing my boat to go out. So I did not have the box or paperwork that it came with. Know that in order to return it, you need to package it yourself before taking it to a return center. If you don't then the UPS store, in my case, will try to charge you for about $20 for a box. To avoid that charge I had to request an exchange instead of a return. I'm sure that the new paddle will also be defective. Thanks Amazon! ... show more

The boat oars worked great when we ran out of gas on the river. Thanks to the bright colored oars we were able to “wave” some boaters down with one and they thankfully helped us get back to the dock.

The paddle design and idea is a good one, but the execution didn't quite work. I use this on my kayak and the portability is great, but after just a couple of uses, the tightening and loosening of the paddle doesn't function well anymore. I can still use it in a pinch (which is what i initially bought it for) but the durability is below what I was expecting. ... show more
