From the cutting of the plastic from the retail box to the unboxing absolute QUALITY. The installation was FLAWLESS. Clean cables and connectors went together like it was made for my build with clicks for each connector to the PSU to the 24 pin to the 2 8pin CPU to the 12VHPWR to the ARGB 3.3 SATA each cable had a firm click. PC fired right up with new 4070TI card installed and WHISPER QUIET. Stress tested with Cinebench 24 and 3DMark Basic. Both tests ran flawlessly with minimum fan buildup. HWMonitor Pro Temps were nominal and well within normal operation. All I can say is you get what you pay for and this PSU IMHO is absolute perfection. This Seasonic psu is up to date with the latest atx standards and is super quiet and very reliable. I’ve stuck with the Seasonic brand for all of my power supplies and haven’t came across a bad one yet. One is still running and is about ten years old. Installed on a previously running computer before I upgrade to a bigger gpu. Everything connected properly, flip the switch on it, and hear a pop from the psu. No power to anything, not even the built in rgb on the motherboard. Put in my previous psu, rgb on motherboard works, but won't power on at all now, no debug lights either. Price paid: 250$ Version: Vertex GX-1000 80+ gold ATX 3.0 Overall, I found the quality of the PSU drool worthy. The cables on the other hand leave a lot to be desired. For what it's worth, I'd like to see SeaSonic differentiate their products by allowing people to buy psu units separately from the cables. Though idk if shipping and logistics make this possible. Cables: I HATE the cables. They are somewhat nice, but they are also very wire-y. Looks like dog sh!t in my case. For such a high price, it's a hard pill to swallow. i really wish I could buy this psu with either no cables, or custom sleeved cables in different colors. Instead, its another 100$ if I want high quality cable mod cables. Or maybe I have it wrong? Am I supposed to diy custom sleeve my own cables and this setup makes it easier and cheaper? Longevity: Last time I bought a power supply was 9 ish years ago which was a corsair hx750. That psu is still running as my old build has become a server. Considering SeaSonics warranty and reputation, I am expecting this PSU to last 15+ years. One thing I did notice was that while my PC was sleeping, the house lights went out for a half second, however my PC did not power off. This is confidence inspiring as my old desktop server nukes itself at the slightest power disparities, albeit it is pulling a higher idle wattage. Finally, this PSU is heavy, so I ignorantly assume they must be using quality parts / capacitors. Noise: It's been running quiet enough, or at the very least my factory case fans have been drowning out the noise. Very happy that its a hybrid design where the fan turns off. it's also great that there is a toggle switch for the hybrid mode on the plug side of the psu. No potential bloatware or rummaging inside a case to change modes. ... show more
