No fragrance headaches! This product has a very mild fragrance which goes away after applying it to the hair. I recommend this product to anyone who is looking to amp up their curl routine. One spray dispenses a generous amount of product, so you just need a couple of spritz of this baby. You spritz it on damp hair (concentrate on the lengths of your hair), scrunch it, and either air-dry it or diffuse it. I chose to diffuse my hair since I was in a hurry. Do make sure to diffuse on a low, cool air setting, since using heat can destroy that beautiful texture you're going after. After using the diffuser, I was blown away! My wavy hair had a nice definition and hold. It was slightly frizzy though, but that's life, peeps. I used a bit of grapeseed oil (again from the same brand, Maple Holistics) to tame away the frizz which worked beautifully. I am beginning my curly/wavy hair journey and found this sea salt spray a perfect addition to my routine. Gels and curl-defining creams tend to weigh down my fine, wavy 2B hair. As for the volume booster claims, I would have liked to see more volume boost at the roots. But since I used this product alone without any leave-ins or curl enhancers, I guess I could give that a pass. I am sure when used in conjunction with a curl-defining cream and a hair diffuser, this spray would seriously amp up the curl/wave game. I will try that next when I find the perfect curl creme. Till then, I am happy to use this sea salt spray as is -- this is also a perfect way to get one last day of good style between washes. Do note that this product can be drying to your hair, obviously because of the salt. Make sure to use a clarifying shampoo on your washday to get rid of any buildup. I absolutely love this sea salt spray, a few friends suggested I try it out, as I have curly hair and the summer heat was not doing it any favors. This spray is awesome, it keeps my hair looking so pretty in a way that isn't puffy or flat. Absolutely love it!

I spray this on my hair wet and scrunch it, then let it air dry. Finger comb upside down when it's dry for a fluffy beach wave look. Also spray it on dry bed head hair to dampen and shape into submission. Let it air dry and comb it for the same look. It does leave a dull finish but a touch of pomade or finishing oil does the trick. Pomade will also enhance the "fresh from the beach" look by ading piecey texture. Product washes out easily with non SLS shampoo and doesn't seem to dry my hair out. ... show more

I'm so impressed with this product! I don't like normal salt sprays because they leave my hair feeling sticky and dirty. The salt is too thick and it cakes on my hair but Maple Holistic's was so light and soft! The spay applicator is seamless and plenty product came out with each spray, which gave even and full coverage. As my hair dried, I got these natural waves that looked just like I had ocean water in my hair but without the feeling of salt/sticky that I usually have when I actually swim in the sea or when I use other salt spays. Two girlfriends commented the first day I wore it that they loved the wave! I didn't prompt them! Try this, you will like it. I am a bit picky about hair products only because I am just a skeptical person in general. I have used this brand’s shampoo/conditioner with amazing results and gave this product a shot. I have primarily used it on days where I don’t intend to wash it. I was pretty impressed with the results. First off, since I wear it on days I do not wash my hair, I do use dry shampoo (because it’s just necessary). Afterwards I spray this product in my hair at the roots (lightly) followed by some general sprays. This gives the look of “I just got off the beach and I don’t really want to do my hair but am just going with it” kinda look but with volume. (A little tip: after spraying, blow dry your hair upside down and scrunch your hair with your hand. Use the cool setting to “set” the hair. This will add that volume you seek.) The smell is very very light and pleasant. Not overpowering. I would recommend this product if the “just off the beach volume and slightly curly/kinky” hairstyle is what you are looking for. Great for days when you want to be looking “naturally” put together and make folks turn their heads your way. ... show more

I was so disappointed in this spray. Was looking for something light to not have stiff hair from other sprays but this was not the answer. It felt like spaying salt water on my hair, leaving it heavy, sticky feeling like when you are in salt air. Not something I would consider a good hair product.
