I got this during the Black Friday sales bc it is a little pricey for something I hadn’t tried and didn’t know if it would work. For reference, I have very curly hair that is fine and super dense, like I have a *ton* of hair. I’m mixed (black and white). Usually I wear it straight (although now I’m seriously considering getting the curly version) because I struggle to get my curls looking sleek and refined. Anyway, normally I add a few products like argan oil and leave in conditioner, wait for my hair to air dry partway, and then blow dry with the revlon blow dryer round brush thing (highly recommend that too btw). Then I follow up with my babyliss flat iron. Normally the blow out gives me the body and shape I want but it’s still a bit frizzier than I’d like, so I have to follow up with the flat iron, but that kills the beautiful bouncy blow out shape even if I add in waves. They fall within 20 mins. Idk. Then I finish with an ogx dry oil or the chi shine spray. This changed the whole game. You definitely need to saturate the hair with it. Like make sure your hair is wet with it. Comb it through to make sure it’s fully and evenly distributed. Then dry. It’s super weird for me (and I imagine most people) to blow dry soaking wet hair, and I’d normally never do that, but this somehow speeds up the dry time. I was able to achieve the silky smooth finish I get with my flat iron while maintaining the body from my blow out. I didn’t need to use the flat iron at all. You CAN use it to enhance the anti frizz effects - and I considered doing that - but I loved how it came out without using it. I finished with the chi shine spray which I probably didn’t even really need as it was already so shiny and sleek anyway. This is like what I get from a salon blow out. Pic attached. I already have pretty healthy & soft hair BUT after using a flat iron on a few spots, they were a bit damaged and every product I tried to help did nothing. UNTIL I tried this product. I notice a huge difference on the damaged pieces but also my hair overall is so incredibly silky and soft. I've used this product several times, about every 3 days. I have very thin hair, and this product does help create silky, frizz free hair. Doesn’t quite produce the silky hair I see in other reviews. And know you must COMPLETELY coat all hair strands. So one bottle will only last for 6 applications if you have long hair. Would buy again, just not the holy grail others have claimed. ... show more

I don't know what took me so long to finally try this product, but I've been using it about two weeks now and my hair looks great. I'm a 3a curly girl, but during the winter my hair never seems to hold enough moisture for my proper curl routine to look good, so I take to doing blowouts and wearing it straight. Dream Coat has given me soft, silky, shiny hair after every wash and dry, and seems to help lock in moisture to keep my straight-styled curly hair from getting brittle. I didn’t expect a miracle to come from this product, but the internet really made me believe that this product would be the “fix” for my hair coming out a bit frizzy when it is straightened. I’d definitely stay away from it if you have 3C hair and want your silk presses to stay lightweight for more than a couple days. To cut to the chase: Yes, this product will help with reducing humidity’s effect on your hair, particularly when working out. The product actually comes with a pretty decent amount as well- though it was $28, I was expecting half of what I actually received. Even if you have thick hair this will last a while. My problems with this product are: First, it makes my hair smell burnt. I usually only put a hey protectant in and it still smells decent even after being straightened but this product makes it smell burnt and the smell unfortunately did not go away until I washed it out. Second, it definitely leaves a bit of a greasy feeling on the hair, even though I used a couple sprays per quarter heads section. For myself, I absolutely cannot get past these two things. I don’t like the feeling of weighed down hair, and I really can’t get past how it makes my hair smell. It did add a bit of shine to my hair, but I do think it simultaneously made my hair harder to work with after flat ironing it due to the product weighing it down. ... show more

I bought this not expecting the same results that I've seen on tv with the professional stylists and I didn't get those results. I did however get softer hair and it doesn't tangle like it does when I don't use it. I use it on wet hair then dry with the blow dryer & a round brush. I still use the flat iron afterwards. I probably spray 15 times so it's a good amount used but it's not soaked. The bottle lasts about 9-11 months using it 2x a week. I also add a little coconut oil to the bottle to get a little more shine. ... show more
