This head unit looks amazing in my 2011 Volkswagen Jetta SE. The steering wheel buttons didn’t work with my old radio, but works on this one, which i’m happy about. The main reason for upgrading was for the Apple CarPlay, which works flawlessly so far. very responsive. The apple CarPlay is smooth for the most part and responsive, the Bluetooth is bulletproof as well. The only issue I had was the radio doesn’t push enough wattage to make my stock speakers sound good (my 2011 vw Jetta has the premium audio setup). Original Review: This radio is an upgrade for my 2012 GTI that originally had the RCD 510. I am very happy with the appearance as it looks completely stock. It's important to note that the RCD330 Plus does not have access to Sirius XM radio. This was not a problem for me because Apple CarPlay was the main reason I purchased this unit and I can still stream XM using the Sirius app on my phone. The unit looked brand new and free of scratches. Installation was a breeze. Everything was plug-and-play. Just make sure you order the correct antenna adapter, which is also available on Amazon. All my steering wheel controls work. I noticed that the USB port is active when the car is turned off, but there has been no issues with battery drain. The only issue I've noticed is that CarPlay can be a bit glitchy. I have no problems with my phone in my other car, so I know it must be this unit. Every once in a while, audio from my phone will cut out. Sometimes it happens in the middle of a drive. Other times there's an issue as soon as I plug in my phone. CarPlay will appear to be working properly on the screen, but music from my phone will not come through the car speakers. Removing and replacing the USB wire always resolves the issue immediately, but it's annoying to deal with. I have tried using generic cables and official Apple cables, but the glitches still remain. Another annoying thing is the back-up camera. Since I don't have one installed on my car, the radio displays a warning that the camera isn't active. Sometimes the warning goes away when I put the car in drive, but most of the time it doesn't go away. I have to tap an X to close out the message manually. All in all, even with the glitches, having access to CarPlay with a stock-looking head unit is worth the minor annoyances. I'm not an Apple fan boy by any stretch of the imagination, but for me, the CarPlay UI delivers a better user experience than any other modern car I have driven. Update December 29, 2019 I just upgraded my review from 3 to 4 stars. After about a month of usage I figured out why CarPlay was glitchy. My phone was still connecting to the OEM Bluetooth module. Once I permanently disconnected from my car’s Bluetooth and only relied on the USB connection with the radio, all audio glitches stopped. The only reason why I’m not giving five stars is because the radio keeps looking for a back up camera. Since my 2012 GTI doesn’t have one, I have to manually clear the warning prompt by pressing an X on the screen whenever CarPlay is active. If CarPlay is not in use, the warning prompt usually disappears on its own once the car is over 15 mph. ... show more

Been using this unit for the past 2 months and it has been great. I was missing the head unit from my previous mk7 gti and wanted to update my Rabbit with android auto, this seemed like the easiest route and I love that it looks oem. Install was very easy and I didn't need any special adapters or mess with the CAN bus, I think because my Rabbit is a base model with no steering controls. Thankfully I have not experienced any battery drain. All features work as expected, the screen isn't as nice as the in the Mk7 but that is only a small complaint. Also unable to pinch zoom in google maps which im not sure is a limitation of the head unit's screen or an issue with android auto. All in all a nice upgrade from the base Rabbit radio, and I hope this unit lasts the life of this car without problems. Update 8/26/2022 - So after several months of relatively problem free usage of this head unit I have started having problems with it. Something happened to the usb port in the unit and it is no longer starting up Android Auto with my phone. I noticed one day my USB cable started smoking at the usb-c side(!!!) and proceeded to remove it before it could cause any damage. Since then the head unit will no longer connect via Android Auto, it tries but I keep getting an error stating my device is not compatible. I have tried multiple known working cables and even doing a factory reset on my phone and full reset of the head unit with no success. I used Android Auto regularly so it is a bit of a disappointment to lose the function. I have started using bluetooth now and that came with it's own issue. Every time I start the car bluetooth will not automatically connect, I have to go through a process between pressing prompts on both the phone and head unit in order to connect, which is such a pain in the neck. Hopefully I can get the AA issue sorted, otherwise i'll replace the head unit with something else. ... show more
