This is my second Scosche camera, since I already have the app for the other and 4 other Nexar Beam cameras, setup was a breeze. The app recognized the camera when I asked to add a new device. The app also swaps between the cameras when I get into the other cars. I like the system because it records to the cloud and to your phone, you do not need to pull the sd card to review the video. It also has a parking mode, hard brake notices. Good camera for the price, clear video both night and day. I was rear ended and the camera was not connected to the app. It is suppose to auto connect. When I tried to retrieve video footage, it wasn't there. Simple as that. The nexar app and products are trash and you should avoid them. There is no option what so ever for an SD card. So if your phone doesn't connect to the cam, and you get hit like I did, your screwed. Furthermore, my car was 100k new in 2020. This car is an asset, and you have to protect assets. This ain't it. You've been warned ... show more

I’m pretty happy with the quality of the video, and the setup was pretty straightforward. My only complaint is that I can’t seem to find footage of the inside of the car, but I’m willing to give benefit of the doubt and say that could be user error.

You have to double check the app for connection. The one time I really needed to prove that I wasn’t in the wrong, my dash cam was not recording. In addition, I just upgraded my IPhone, now it’s giving me an error message, it’s not connecting to WiFi. I uninstalled several times. The “customer service” doesn’t help. Lastly, it doesn’t record in and out simultaneously. It just records either or. If you’re lucky to get it to connect to your phone. I’m going to sell it and get another dash cam. ... show more

It was easy to set up and route the power cord through my car. I'm not wild about the difficulty in creating a clip of a portion of my drive to share. You have to be IN the car with the camera ON. I figured since everything was accessible on my phone that would allow me to pick and choose what to save and share from the comfort of my couch. Also, each drive, no matter how short or long, creates one file instead of dividing it into shorter 1 min, 3 min or 5 min increments. Therefore, when you have something you want to go back to watch, you have to scroll through the ENTIRE video to find it. It also has no way to SAVE video while driving (for example: if you're driving and something really cool happens in front of you, you can't push a button or ask it to save that one particular section of video that will be easily accessible later). I do like that I have a cabin view option, but again, to access that portion of the video, you have to be near the camera with it turned on. Video quality is good though. ... show more
