    • Great product that will save your battery in winter
In the past the battery on my tractor would go dead in the winter for lack of use. As you can appreciate if you need to use the tractor in winter and the battery is dead you are in a predicament. I came across this Maintainer after replacing two batteries and lots of frustration. After installation which is very easy, it will provide a change of 1.5 amp. I plugged it in and and on days the battery should have been dead the tractor started like a champ. I was so please I bought another one for my John Deere lawn mower. Agin works great. ... show more

    • Finding a good spot to mount was a channel but that's vehicle specific. Works frine!
Installed in an older Grand Caravan that may sit for long periods during long, Minnesota winter. This helps keep the battery topped off so I don't have to go out every day to burn gas and keep battery charged. Was able to tie wrap it to the bulkhead but otherwise would have needed to pull battery and other parts to find a place to screw it in securely. If you're using it for an automotive-style battery, the lead lugs were big enough to fit the 10mm bolts on the offset battery clamps but nothing larger, so you might have to modify them to fit larger bolts or posts. More than large enough for marine or ATV batteries. Would have been nice to include a cap for the exposed AC plug but I'll try to pick one up locally to keep the prongs from corroding over time - I left mine sticking out from under the hood so I can easily plug it in - just make sure you're not pinching the AC power cord. ... show more

Received my battery maintainer, and was curious that it rattled when it was moved. Opened it up and found that the two mounting screws for the board had been over tightened, and the mounts had cracked so badly that the screws fell out. There were two additional mount points, so I used them, and didn't ovetighten. Carefully sealed it up, tested, and then put it into use. First time seeing such an obvious quality problem.
