It's such an easy hat-it instantly looks perfect! It's supple, has curled-up sort of fun, bouncy brim. Fit was fine for me and comfortable, no itching. The quality seems really good for a casual hat. The band is substantial and is lined with two woven strips that keep the entire band from settling on the skin so it can breathe. The color is tea, pretty much like the amber-brown you'd see in your teacup, although in some online photos, tea looks lighter. It's not wheat or blonde. It would be fabulous with red or denim but will probably go with anything. I haven't tried to pack it so, I don't know about that. ... show more

I have red hair and blue eyes, so wearing a hat is a necessity. My first SCALA Rafia Hat I had since 1996, and it just start to become undone around one edge...so it lasted 23 years. I was due for a new one, and it's the exact same one. It's not too big, it's crushable so it's easy to pack or stuff in your purse. I can wear this with EVERYTHING in the summer from dress-up to casual. I hope this one will last 23 years like my other one....even if it doesn't I'll still get another one. ... show more

The style, color and weight of this hat are all good and it generally stays on your head. The only shortcoming is the hat needs adjustability, even with my large head and lots of hair, it’s a bit loose but the weight keeps it on my head. Either an elastic band or a string would be helpful for a more secure fit. Otherwise it is a great hat and nice addition to my collection. ... show more

This hat was so mis shaped when I received it! I have tried everything to make it look like it should. No luck! It is a non returnable item, which I knew when I ordered it, which makes it more difficult to accept

First, let me say that I am not a hat person. This Scala hat changed that. While vacationing in Kauai it was a lifesaver - I wore it everywhere - the beach, out to eat, on a hike. Whenever we travel somewhere (especially a humid place), I make sure to bring this hat along now. It packs well - I have smashed it and it regains it’s shape.
