Love how sturdy the USB-C and USB-A ends feel when they snap into place. However, this is a very small flash drive, so it helps to attach a lanyard or string to it so it's harder to lose, and here's the problem. The hole to run a lanyard through is WAY TOO SMALL and flat, which makes it extremely difficult to run anything through it. I had to take a twist tie from a loaf of bread, strip the plastic off the twist tie, hook one end of the stripped twist tie through the hole on the flash drive, loop the other end of the stripped twist tie around the thin end of the lanyard and use needle-nose pliers to pull the stripped twist tie and lanyard through that tiny hole. IT SHOULD NOT BE AS DIFFICULT TO ATTACH A LANYARD TO A FLASH DRIVE as it is with this product. SanDisk needs to put a raised hole for a lanyard on this product like it is on their other flash drives. ... show more

This worked extremely well, but using it required removing an Otterbox phone protector, which prevented the USB-C connector from reaching the phone's connector. That being challenging, the choice is either to leave the phone physically vulnerable or to limit use of this device to occasional file backups or transfers, limiting its value as an ad hoc expansion of the phone memory. SanDisk could easily overcome this by allowing the USB-C connector to extend more. A cool design allowing use with both legacy USB A and USB C ports. Useful if you tend to move between desktop and portable devices, or just want the flexibility of being able to plug this into almost any computing device. On the negative, the slowish write speeds are as expected for an inexpensive USB thumb drive. A straight-line write test (1MB sequential blocks) on a native USB-C / USB3.1 port maxed out at ~23MB/sec. But considering the price of this device, that's actually a bit better than I expected.     • Great Storage Device, but it Gets Hot!

I used this device to transfer video files from my iPad. I did a batch transfer, so it took a few minutes. When the transfer was complete, I removed the device from my iPad and it was HOT. Like, seriously hot. I was afraid the board and memory chip had melted inside of the case. I would not recommend transferring a batch of large files with this device. ... show more

I love how the slider works on this drive, and it's so easy to load up on whichever device / port you need to use. I bought this to use with my new iPad which has USB-C as the files and movies I wanted to access were on my older computer (that does not have USBC-C). These little SanDisk Ultra Dual Drives are great to have around for whatever computer I need them for. I'm the IT guy for a school district and we have old computers that use USB-A drives and newer Macs that only have USB-C drives. I keep an assortment of software that I need on the drive and I'm able to use it on any computer. Much smaller than I expected at 1 3/8" this was a bonus. There's a slide with 3 settings: 1) Expose the USB C 2) Closed, nothing exposed 3) Expose the USB A GREAT for copying files between my Intel Mac and my M1 Mac.

I bought this to store the photos and videos taken on my phone in order to keep my main storage free but when I plugged the USB C side into my phone nothing showed up on the files app. My Dell XPS 15 9570 can detect the flash drive only when the USB A side is used but my Dell Precision 5550 was able to detect it using the USB C side. Bummer Update (10/30/23): After updating my phone to iOS 17.1 the flash drive shows up in my files app and I was able to copy files into it. Bumping to 4 stars because still having problems making it work with my PC ... show more
