This is by far the best sound bar I've ever owned. First of all it's super easy to set up as well as connect the subwoofer; it's pretty much plug-and-play which I appreciate. I also really like the simple wall mounting setup, which only took minutes thanks to the paper screw guide that it comes with removing any guesswork. In terms of sound quality, this thing exceeds my expectations. The surround option really does do a good job of mimicing true surround sound, it's noticeably more dynamic than the standard option. The subwoofer is fantastic even at the lowest volume setting and I love that you can adjust the volume for it separately with the remote. Both of my previous soundbars included subwoofers and they couldn't be controlled at all so this is a huge plus for me. Even without the subwoofer on the bar just produces really solid sound on its own, it's really impressive especially for the price. Everything just works and it works well. My only one complaint is the remote - it's fine as a whole but I don't love the volume buttons, they're big clicky sticks that you have to push up or down, and it just feels unnatural to me. The buttons also feel kind of cheap, I normally like clicky buttons but I don't love the execution here. Still worth noting since you'll be using them frequently, but it's an otherwise small issue when the product as a whole is so great. So Im a Huge Music Loving Gamer Adjacent TV Movie Binger that own a Projector for Entertainment. I've searched High and low for the Best and i have found it, Not only the SAMSUNG HW-Q60C 3.1ch Soundbar have a Dope sleek Design that fits perfect on my Gaming Mantle station comfortably, its such a easy set Up, i overly added wires (Hdmi etc) that wasnt Even necessary because it has wireless connection, My mind was Blown once i connected my Galaxy S23 ultra phone to it just to play with the volume, When i say the sound was crisp and clear and Loud!!!!! I was kinda anxious my neighbors was going to complain 🙃, but it was all good once i learned to navigate through multiple choice sound settings and controlled each sound like the Bass and treble etc with via Rote that also comes along with this purchase im sure theres way more features i could enjoy but its built for smart tvs which i dont own as of yet but yes i truly value this purchase and ecstatic it sits in my Home where my guest and I can be thrilled or chilled with the surround sound of this Sound Bar! ... show more

Much improved compared to the Samsung soundbar and subwoofer I had for about 5 years for about the same cost. Big improvement on sound especially clarity from the sound bar. The HDMI Arc option using HDMI is a nice addition compared to the older model. Also you can keep more than 1 bluetooth device paired at a time so switching between devices is not a hassle. Please read this review as 4.5 stars. This unit gets high marks from most professional reviewers, and rightly so. Due to advancing age and the realization that I won't be hefting 40lb receivers and 80lb speakers much longer, I decided to start downsizing - and this was the first thing I did. Glad too. It is as good as advertised with only minor criticisms. Out-of-box it is powerful loud, seemingly louder using eArc than the HDMI inputs. (I recommend a break-in period for the speakers before too critical a listen). The center channel seems a bit dominant, L/R mains a bit weak, and low bass prominent with weaker mid-bass. The claimed pass-through capability is only if the soundbar is turned on - it will not pass audio/video if it is off, so if you are planning to use the unit as a hub, just be aware that it is NOT passive pass-through. There are four sound modes but EQ is only available on "Standard"which is unfortunate as it could be positively applied otherwise. I would like to recommend that the next iteration have EQ available in all modes and each speaker individually addressable as well. Right now only Bass/Treble sliders are available for the advanced sound modes (Surround, Adaptive). One critique is that ATMOS is a bit weak, not that it matters much since ATMOS material is not always mentioned in the program descriptions of the various streaming sites when selecting a viewing choice. Fandango does a good job of identifying ATMOS coded offerings but not the other streamers. Amazon Prime Video only offers ATMOS if you pay the extra fee for no commercials, but even then the audio description is missing (I subscribed to no commercials for two days and never saw the word "ATMOS"). I did download some demo files and detected a faint ATMOS effect when playing them through the system. There are two sound adjustments one may employ that attenuate the sound, they are called "SpaceFit" and "Adaptive". I am still trying to figure out what they do, although I did notice a slight echoing effect using Adaptive. The remote is small and sparsely populated with buttons, several of which have arcane double button presses for "hidden" functions. The mobile app is much better and quite handy - highly recommended. In sum, a great sounding system that's even better after break-in. I sincerely hope for better EQ capabilities in the future. ... show more

    • Expensive, but worth it! Much larger than I expected

I have a Sony A95L and looked at the new Sony soundbar/speakers but thought the price was too high. After reading a number of reviews, I settled on the Samsung Q990D and I'm glad that I did. The only thing that was annoying was the size and weight of the device, but the sound is amazing and everyone agrees. The sub-woofer is, if anything, too powerful. The rear speakers, after I got them placed correctly, my fault, are very good. The app, well, if you are into puzzles it is amazing, if you are trying to get things done, it is maze. Took me forever to figure out where the rear speaker volume was. Now that I have it figured out, it is fine, but do plan on some time. I definitely recommend this product! ... show more
