Just received this a few days ago and have used twice. I don't mind the push up. After reading other reviews, I just rubbed my fingertips over the bar to apply, to tame loose wild hairs. I have not yet tried a sleek pulled back hairstyle. When I do, I will apply with fingertips as well. I did try running the stick across my hair over the ears section but used very light pressure. It did not have a scent which I appreciate. It was not too tacky on my fingers and glided easily over the hair I wanted to tame. I have not had issue with it leaving my hair greasy after washing it. Overall I am happy with it, the hold and ease of application. I have long, leaning towards frizzy C2 hair that I pull top half up with combs style or up in high ponytail. I have those shorter hairs that curl out that I typically tuck behind my ears and those "horns" at my temples that only want to stick up. This works well in taming them. I may update when I do a slicked back ponytail to see how much I use and how long it holds up. ... show more

It works really well. All my fly away stay down, and it last all day. The scent is not bad. My only problem is not if I don’t wash it out at the end of the day it make my hair look like an oily mess.

A Lionel Ritchie song comes to mind. YES this is thee I was looking for. OY. I have spent YEARS trying to find the right thing to tame the little fly away blond hairs around my face so I don't look like a mad scientist every time I walk out the door. My hair is thick and nice, but for some reason around my face it just likes to get all crazy on me. I've tried gels and sprays and mousse and well no joy til this. It's so easy, it doesn't make my hair greasy or dirty looking. I can even not wash my hair for three days, apply it each day and still looks fine. Definitely need a wash by the 4th day, but thats under extreme circumstances. I highly recommend this to keep fly away stray hair invisibly and without mess or greasy finish where you want it. The product was a thick cylinder shape when I'd prefer a more slender shape for what I need since my 5 yr old daughter just has one bit of frizzy hair that pops out in front of her forehead from accidently cutting it short when taking the hair bands out of her hair! Since then the bit of hair sticks up in front of her forehead and you can clearly notice it was cut or chopped off. So it's what stands up straight when I put her hair back on a braid or pony tail. When using this hair stick it works great to slick that piece down! The only think I didn't like is that it's not a full all day hold since when she comes home from school in the afternoons the piece of hair is sticking back out but I suspect it holds at least half the day!
