i was able to get the mattress protector around my large and heavy queen sized mattress AND a 4 inch mattress topper with very little trouble. I expected the process to be laborious and exhausting but it was not. I found the mattress protector easy to install mainly because the protector slid underneath the side of the mattress that rested upon the floor easily so I could get it into the proper position to start zipping the zipper closed. When I started to close the zipper I was surprised at how quickly and easily it closed. It did not hang up like other zippers have. I got the impression that this mattress protector was very well made. I don't consider myself to be knowledgeable about mattress protectors but I have used one other in the past and given a choice between the two I would definitely choose this one again. ... show more

Easy to install on a king size mattress but you need 2 people. Excellent zipper. Not sure how waterproof it would be since the top is terry cloth, I got it for bed bug protection. The terry cloth is great for my purposes since it is not noisy to sleep on. My pest control company recommended leaving it unopened for up to a year to make sure that any eggs or bed bugs that might have been present have time to die. They apparently can live a long time without feeding! Plan to install this anytime I buy a new mattress! ... show more

It actually is exactly what I was looking for and surprisingly exceeded my expectations on some of its claims... It definitely prevents anything that you wouldn't want touching your mattress from touching your mattress. I never post ratings until I put any product to good use. I honestly can say that this review comes from plenty of experience that involves a female Pomeranian puppy that my girlfriend and I just brought into our home. It also has a soft top layer which makes it unnoticeable both by touch and sound. This was a must and I had lowered my expectations to try to not be disappointed but I was gratefully impressed. I have even forgotten it was on there and only am reminded when cleaning the bed sheets. *Ease of installation note* One thing that people may not think about but was definitely a pleasant thing about this mattress cover was the ease at which it was installed. It honestly took me over an hour. I have a queen size mattress and it fits tightly in its bed-frame. I am a neat freak (and was going solo) and didn't want to pull out the mattress and let it touch the GROUND to help put the cover on. Needless to say it was terrible but looking back it went better than I should have expected. The cover (on the sides and bottom) is made out of a silky and very smooth material which I should be grateful made it a 1 hour task instead of a 5 hour task. It slid nicely between the box frame and my mattress and did not snag on the sides of the mattress either when pulling it tight or closed. Last thing...the zipper is sturdy and good quality too which makes me feel a little bit better about things being kept away from the mattress. It also has a zipper cover to hide the clasp which makes it just that more discrete (unnoticeable) that you have a pretty extreme quality cover over your mattress. ... show more

This was fairly easy to put on my queen bed. I actually was able to do it without help. It took a little finagling, but nothing you wouldn’t expect.
