I was really happy to get this clock, I knew is was going to be smaller but didn't realized how small this when I got it. It is too small to read across the room which was the reason for buying it, Too much hassle to return, will try to give as a gift. This clock is better in person than on line. The line or “tear” several have complained about is actually part of the background, why else would it be identical on all clocks? It is part of the design to give an antique appearance to the clock, just like the “distressed” finish. I used a permanent black marker to color the numbers which make them easier to read and to blend in with the clock’s hands. It is silent and very accurate with the added benefit of a second sweep hand. It is a tad larger than my last clock so we will raise it an inch or so but it blends well with all the stainless in our kitchen. I am pleased with this clock and recommend it. ... show more
