WE haven't been able to use our diving board the last 5 years, since the bolt snapped in two from my brother using it one summer. The house is 30 years old so we assume the diving board is as well. Took us a while to find the correct part as we were clueless. Anyway this seems to be the part and it fit right. Hubby replaced all the old bolts and those snapped as well during removal. A bit pricy, but worth it. I had considered just replacing the bolts by going to big Orange or blue, but the dont identify the grade of the bolt. Going cheap for the bolt was not an option. So I bit the bullet to buy this whole kit, thinking I was not needing anything but the bolts. Wrong. Turns out there was no way I was going to get the rusted bolt out of the white plastic surface mounts. And the under board bolt caps were both cracked. And all the rubber washers were all compressed/warped/etc - generally unusable. The only part that was re-usable were the two nuts and metal washers - which I used inside the flyte deck, as two of those nuts had rusted. So in the end, I used every part in this kit. Glad I ordered it. 4 stars just because the price should be in the 30 buck range, not 50. ... show more

Like another reviewer said, way too expensive for what you get. I was pricing out the stainless steel hardware at the store and you are basically paying $30 for the plastic pieces. I ended up buying separate stainless steel nuts instead of using the brass ones supplied with this kit. The instructions do say to use anti-seize compound. They could have supplied that in a little tiny pack for what they charge for this. The length of the bolts are 4.5 inches, which does not include the height of the head of the bolt. My original ones were slightly longer, but these were fine with the nut flush with the end of the bolt. The bottom cap is a nice touch. My old set did not have it. Installing the new hardware was a lot easier than removing the old. The following is not related to the product ordered but I am offering it to assist others: I had a heck of a time getting the old ones off. They were about 8 years old. I ended up cutting the nut off with a reciprocating sawzall with a metal blade. This was difficult because I could not get to the bold above the nut, so basically I was cutting bolt and nut. Even after cutting the nuts off, the old bolts were still stuck in. I used a small car jack with a 3 inch socket set extender (think heavy metal tube) on top of the jack to push the old rusty bolts up. This actually pried the diving board off the base and the bolts were still stuck in the board. I had to turn the board over and bang the old bolts out with a hammer. I put some silicone sealant around the new bolt where it goes through the top of the board and also on the plastic cap on top. I hope this was a good idea. I am thinking it will keep water out. My old bolts were so rusted, I have no idea if they were stainless steel or not. The diameter of the part that was inside the board had been reduced a good bit from rust. Who knows how much longer they would have lasted. ... show more

    • Too short for an SR Smith 6' Diving Board

The bolts were a half inch too short for use with my 6' SR Smith board mounted to an SR Smith base. I have no idea why they are considered suitable for a residential 6' board as in the description. Sadly, I had to return them and buy a less expensive alternative with 5" long bolts.

As many who have reviewed before, it's overpriced, but then you don't have to go to multiple sites/locations to put the kit together yourself; trade-offs. This kit had everything that I needed, and my original bolts were very much like those shown in pictures below; heavily rusted and had to be cut off. I also replaced the 1/2" brass nuts with Stainless Steel AND bought some anti-seize compound. Overall, this product quickly satisfied my needs... ... show more
