Features

  • An annual plant (30-80 days). Stems are strong, with a height of 30'-40' (80-100 cm). Inflorescences-baskets are large, spherical, with a diameter of 2'-3' (4-6 cm), and a variety of bright colors. Grow by sowing seeds in open ground, or for earlier flowering through seedlings. Flowering begins in July and lasts until frost. Used in group plantings in the design of flower beds, and for cutting.
  • Fill a pot or seed tray with moist seed compost and lightly firm the surface. Gently push your dahlia seeds into the compost. Dont forget to label your seeds. Cover pots with an inflated clear polythene bag, held in place with a rubber band. If sown in seed trays, cover with a propagator lid.
  • Seedlings will germinate within a couple of weeks. Once the true leaves have grown, seedlings are ready to transplant into individual pots. Hold plants by their leaves and gently tease them out of the soil.
  • Gently transplant seedlings in 10 cm (4'') pots of multipurpose compost, firm, and water well. In mid-May, harden off plants by standing them outdoors during the day and bringing them in at night. Plant them in their final positions once all risk of frost has passed.
  • Youll get a wonderful mixture of different flower shapes and colors from the resulting plants.

  • Beautiful Flowers
It’s 05/18/24, and I planted the seeds in my hydroponic garden around 02/14/24. Likely due to my inexperience with hydroponic gardens and planting dahlias, the germination rate was modest. If I did it again, I would only plant one or two seeds in each pod, rather than 5-6 or more. I would also plant some in dirt with a grow light. (There are a number of YT videos you can watch to help with planting dahlias from seed. It is more popular to plant them from tubers which are like bulbs.) The plants I have are flourishing, and then are a lot more flowers ready to bloom. (Tip: I saw in one YT video that after you cut the dahlia or it dies and dries up, there are seeds Withings the flower if you crunch it up in your hand.) ... show more

  • Zero Germination
I divide the packet into 4 amounts. Tried to germinate each one and not one single seed germinated/ Very disappointed not even 1 so this was a waste of time and money!

  • Breathtaking Dahlias
I loved how easy these were to grow. The size was massive and easily the size of a large fist. 👊. They had a shape and color I had never seen in a dahlia before. Plus all of my neighbors were amazed. I didn’t get a ton of variety but it was worth what I did get and they are physically durable and long lasting ♥️🌸 ... show more

  • Not 100 seeds
As you can see this is nowhere near 100 seed. I’m starting them in water as the instructions said. I’ll update this review once/ it I get any results.

  • So far so good... about 80% are growing
I wasn't expecting much from these seeds once they arrived in their plain plastic bag. But after I got them started indoors I would guess that about 80% of the seeds I planted started to grow. I recently moved them to a raised planter outdoors so at this point if they don't bloom it's probably user error (i.e. my fault). I'll update this review later when I see what the flowers look like but so far everything seems to be good. BOTTOM LINE: Not wrapped up too fancy but they seem to be okay. **UPDATE** Mid-August and they have finally started blooming! I will post a few pictures when (if?!) others begin to flower but so far it's just the yellow ones. Took quite awhile for them to bloom -- I did get a pretty late start on the season and when I transferred them from a raised planter to a garden bed it took a while for them to get over the shock. Very happy with these. I expect that more will blossom soon. **LAST UPDATE** It looks like just about all the plants that originally sprouted have reached maturity and started to flower. It's only been the yellow and purple (with yellow centers) flowers but I like them a lot. There are two plants with little bulbs that haven't quite flowered yet but I don't really expect any more variety in terms of color. I'm happy with what I got & still believe it was a bargain for the price. ... show more

  • Don’t wasted your time on this one!!!😡
Was so excited to plant the entire package of seeds in my usual seed starting mix I have used with great success. Only on cell germinated. The other 71 cells have not done a thing. I have started thousands of different seeds flowers, vegetables, even shrubs with great success, so I’m not a novice. These are not worth the space on your grow racks, the expensive organic soil, and the disappointing result. ... show more
