This is a nice looking winch at a great price point. Installation was easy and it seems to work fine though I have yet to use it for any significant recoveries and such. My one complaint is the manual. It is a great looking manual but it does not have any installation instructions other than where the electrical connections go. There is also nothing in the manual about how to use/charge the remote control. Also, it appears that Rugcel does not have a website, strange these days. ... show more

I bought this with the intention of infrequent but critical use. I advise wiring up the controller first. Alignment of the control box bolts is a bit off from the threaded bolt holes on top of the winch. The only install instructions are a wiring diagram (useful) at the back of the operating manual. The interrupt switch was a useful surprise - figured out where to put it on the fly. There was plenty of wiring cable to battery for my Jeep Gladiator. My test run was quiet and easy - worked the first time both wired and wireless. The hook clamping to the face plate with just winch taughtness is tidy and cool. ... show more

Very easy to wire up took about an hour and it was Ready to go. Used it for first time pulling a 4 wheeler up on my dump bed, haven't really put a big load to the test yet, so far haven't a complaint one. Fit same bolt holes as my old one. For the price is a Must Buy!! Thanks Amazon.....👍

The winch itself seems fine, everything works. No issues. so far. However it came with NO installation instructions. Having an order of attaching things might have been handy. It did come with a manual of sorts that contained a very minimal wiring diagram. If you are a person familiar with DIY stuff this will be no real problem. Right out of the box. Secured it to our trailer and it laughs at pulling heavy cars or trucks. I was worried it’d be weak. Also, I don’t have it covered from the elements and it’s fine. Remotes work as described also, allowing one person to do it all.

Got my first one and red wire heated up immediately to the point that you couldn’t touch it… motor clicked loudly so sent it back and got another one… installed it …..same thing except now both-red and black wire was hot…motor clicked the same… so to make sure I was hooking it up correctly I hooked it to a battery not attached to my jeep and same thing… don’t waste your time on this one… amazon did return on it no problem and I ordered a different brand ... show more

This winch came with all the parts, but the mounting plate, and structural steel under the deck, and the quick disconnect from the battery to the winch. In my pictures you will see the mounting plate I built the structural steel I added under the deck. The quick disconnect I got at Amazon. This is a very heavy duty 13500 lB winch. Really good quality. Shipping 2 day right on time. Great price Amazon big deal days. The fairlead, the hook, the battery cables, 2 remotes, and 1 plug in control. The remotes have 100 foot range. All good quality. This winch has all the same ratings as most of the other brands out there. I have badlands winches from Harbor freight, this one was cheaper and had synthetic rope. The mounting holes are the same as most of all the brands out there. 10" cl to cl and 4" cl to cl the other way. ... show more

Very powerful winch, my use case is limited as it will be for light recoveries. However as a quick test I pulled a 5k suv with a 4k camper up my 6% incline driveway and it didn’t break a sweat.
